Turn the ignition to run (one position before starting engine).
Immediately after Step 1 press and release the gas pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. If the CHANGE ENG OIL light flashes, the system is resetting.
Turn the ignition off and then start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

Check oil deep stick to make sure that the oil is new and that you changed the oil and not the transmission fluid. If the oil looks new on stick then remove battery cables and wait a couple minutes to allow the computer sensors to reset when you put the battery cables back on. It should fix your problem, but if it does not then you need to really consider replacing that sensor.

What would cause my change oil light to come on after an oil change and now my check engine light is on in my 1999 olds intrigue? What should I do to fix this?

Serious obviously-- as it has to do with engine
oil pressure

I would never have driven it away from the shop
like that

Check for codes first

Oldsmobile intrigue oil light reset how to m?

The oil light comes on when oil pressure is too low. Oil level too low or defective oil pump in the engine. But the most common problem is a defective oil pressure sending unit sensor on the engine. The only way to reset the oil light, is by fixing the problem. There is no reset button.

What's your problem?I have a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue 3.8 that I just changed the oil sending unit and still have the oil light on, any help

possibly the light is coming on due to low oil pressure if you have high miles on the engine usually over 200xxx. try disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes then reconnect that sometimes will reset warning lights. good luck

Check engine light on

Check all the usual things, oil water etc, but you will have to have a diagnostic check done to reset the engine management system (it will stay on your dash if you don't) if all ok, but it will tell you if there is a fault

How do i reset the service the service vehicle soon light? I have changed the oil

Turn the ignition to ON, with the engine off. Fully depress and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds. The reset is complete when you hear the chimes and the “CHANGE OIL” light goes out. If the light stays on and no chime is heard, you will need to repeat the reset procedure. Turn the key to OFF. If the “CHANGE ENGINE OIL” message comes back on when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure.
