How many times has it happened? Will it start and run normal now?
Or does it run until the engine gets to normal operating temperature and then die?
If it is still acting like not getting enough gas when you start it, that does sound like a fuel problem -either the fuel pump or the fuel filter.
Have your fuel pressure checked, or try a new fuel filter. To check the fuel pump, you will need to have the fuel pressure checked. If it's not at 50 psi with the key on, not running, probably a bad pump (if you have checked the filter).
If it starts and runs good for a bit and then stalls, that could be a fuel problem or it could be a spark (ignition) problem. You have to start somewhere, so I would say check for a fuel problem first-as you indicated, maybe it isn't getting enough gas-have the fuel pressure checked.
Check the mass airflow sensor had the same problem on my bravada. Disconnect the electrical plug to it and see if that help.
Testimonial: "Thank you for good information.I replaced the air filter & the fuel pump fuse but still not running correctly. I will do as recommended. It didn't stall today but bucks now & again so i need to continue to resolve this issue.Great advise thanks."
SOURCE: 1989 S10 Blazer acting like its not getting gas.
I had the same problem with my blazer and it took me to completely rebuild the throttle body and put over $300 into the top end, new filter, and it still didn't stop. I finally dropped the tank and started to go through all the proper steps to remove the new fuel pump and i found that the rubber tube from the pump filter to the intake tube had a crack down the middle of it, replaced that and it ran perfectly fine. if that's not the case make certain that you didn't accidentally switch the small fuel lines like i did.(you'll notice that EVERYTHING smells like gas and you'll have fuel draining out of the charcoal cab emissions filter). hope that helps out a little bit!

Disconnect the + wire Coils Take #1 Spark Plug Out Get a helper Use Compression Guage if not Available, Just put your finger over the Spark Plug Hole, have help BUMP the Starter over till You can Feel The Compression at your finger you need #1 at TOP DEAD CENTER on its Compression STROKE Fine tune it by using a STRAW in the Plug Hole to feel the PISTON Move UP To VERY TOP Dead center----------------------------------This is Tricky but don't Loose these Instructions------- If you have the OPTI_SPARK Ignition System My Books show all about it but Nothing on the Timing "MARK" as this is the step I Stoped at Above.. Coil Pack Ignition Will Have a Timing MARK On the Lower Harmonic Balancer. Point Being if Mark is NOT on the Degree Indicator It has JUMPED TIMING<< Surly on a Coil Pack Ignition System BUT
-------- The Opti Spark system if there is NO Timing Mark to Go by I Would Suggest Breaking Down and Letting A DEALER Handle it Unless You Can RULE that it HAS JUMPED TIME------------------------------------------------------------------------I Truly Hope I've shed some Light on Your Delima and this Leads you to a Smooth running Chevy. I would check to be on the safe side the fuel filter is going in the right direction. The arrow is pointing towards the engine away from the fuel tank, Then you need to make sure the fuel pump wiring connections are good contact and did not come loose when driving.
SOURCE: Wont start, new fuel pump
replace fuse and relay.also check oil pressure switch.it controls fuel pump also. check fuel pump wires and fuel injector fuse .if all is good pcm could be faulty it controls fuel pump on .command circuit
SOURCE: i think the anti theft system is keeping my car
it probably is just take your car to chevy dealership to have fixed for free. there was a recall about five years ago fixing the problem. problem was it was the anti theft system was catching cavaliers on fire blowing every fuse from the steering wheel all the way to the motor like mine did lol. so fix asap
