Low pressure port - 1996 Acura RL

Hi Karen,here's a link on where your low pressure port is. Where is the ac low pressure service port on 97 Jaguar Xk8

Look back on the firewall for the two a/c lines. One is large and on is much smaller. The larger line is the low pressure line. Follow that line back to the compressor. The low pressure port will be on that line.

the low pressure port is always the smaller fitting on the larger line. The high pressure port is always the larger fitting on the smaller line. They do this so that it is impossible to place the low pressure fitting on the high pressure port.

The good news is a that vehicle has R134A which means the quick release from your refill can will only fit the low pressure side which is normally a little higher than the High. Unlike the old R22 systems the Low and High pressure connections are slightly different in size.

THE LOW PRESSURE LINE IS ALMOST ALWAYS LOCATED ON THE WIDER PIPE OF THE 2 AND SOMETIMES THEY HIDE IT UNDER THE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY.

The low pressure port is the port on the larger of the two metal pipes. Find the compressor and follow the smaller metal pipe back to the firewall. You will come across the low pressure port. Normally the cap covering the valve will have an L on it. Normally you cannot connect the can to the high pressure port as it will not fit. Just make 100% sure you are connecting to the low port. Clean off the low pressure port cap before removing it. Any debris that gets in the system will ruin the compressor so be very clean.

The low pressure port is against the fire wall, look straight back and you will see it.

there are 2 ports one for low pressure and one for high pressure. the low pressure is bigger in diameter and is usually close to the dryer and or fender and firewall. the high pressure is near the condensor on the fron of the vehicle. if there are caps for the ports low will be blue and high will be red. low side pressure should be 35-50 psi and high pressure should be 135-150 psi
