97 jetta fender removal - 1997 Volkswagen Jetta

The fender is held on by screws in the engine compartment and when the door is open.

Not until you remove some bolts

Remove the windshield cowl to get to
the top fender bolts

You can see the top front ones

I assume the doors can be manually locked. The problem is in the electrical circuit. That means anything from a faulty switch (the lock / Unlock button) to a loose connection. If both switches don't work then look for a blown fuse. If one switch works and the other doesn't than remove the switch and inspect its connection. If it's ok then check the switch. If both switch and connections are OK then you'll have to remove the door panel and access the lock mechanism.

you can either start by taking the left wheel off or not, taking it off will assist you in removing the wheel-well-liner. remove the wheel-well-liner, remove the couple screw that screw the front bumper in the the fender, then remove the bolts holding the bumper onto the actual body of the car. lastly, as you pull the fender off, be careful of the side marker blinker light remove that as you pull the fender off. any questions? please rate!

2 of them are easily removed, but 2 is hard rough to remove. Removing the manifold makes the job easier. It's simply removing all the bolts holding it down and moving it out the way to remove the plugs.

how do i remove pump on inside of right fender?
