My indicator light on 2001 caravan for open door wont go off

check for loose dirty battery terminals /dirty loose earth points. This is an indication of incomplete electrical circuit

In the Ford Ranger, the light switch can be found in the door, right by the latch. You may need to use some WD-40 to get to work properly. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is normal for the shift indicator lift to stay on while the car is being exited. If you come back later, peek inside without opening the door and see if it is still glowing.

There are pin switchs in all the doors that cut off the lights when closed they go bad all the time mainly in the sliding doors. You can bypass the switchs 1 at a time to determin wiche one it is.

You have a major BCM fault, and/or instrument cluster malfunction...
You will need a high end diagnostic scan and a possible reflash done.

It is normal operation for the odometer to light up with the driver's door being opened. It is not normal for the chime to go off. The "Key-In Switch" in your steering column is malfunctioning. The body control computer "Thinks" the key is in the ignition when it is not. It usually requires a new key tumbler assembly to fix this.

Most likely output speed sensor causing all these problems.

Not sure this helps but sometimes this is caused by a bad igntion switch. you can try to wiggle it with out shutting off the van,

You have a shorted bulb. Replace the bulb.
