My indicator light on 2001 caravan for open door wont go off
My indicator light on 2001 caravan for open door and odometer stays lit , even after locking the car for the night . I think , that it is faulty door close switch , but can not locate it .

I just went out and looked at mine and couldn't find the switch either. However I would reccomend going to each door (front back and tailgate and reshutting each one firmly.

In the Ford Ranger, the light switch can be found in the door, right by the latch. You may need to use some WD-40 to get to work properly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- zed bull
This is normal for the shift indicator lift to stay on while the car is being exited. If you come back later, peek inside without opening the door and see if it is still glowing.
There are pin switchs in all the doors that cut off the lights when closed they go bad all the time mainly in the sliding doors. You can bypass the switchs 1 at a time to determin wiche one it is.
It is normal operation for the odometer to light up with the driver's door being opened. It is not normal for the chime to go off. The "Key-In Switch" in your steering column is malfunctioning. The body control computer "Thinks" the key is in the ignition when it is not. It usually requires a new key tumbler assembly to fix this.
