Nissan Sylphy won't start and coil not firing.

NO YEAR told for a CHALLENGE? year 2000 to 2022,wow !
NO COUNTRY TOLD.
check the FUSES FIRST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
with 9 engines used, gas (petrol) , sure not diesel.
all are 4 cylinders and diff. sizes sure.
so he does not know his job , that it?
find one that does.? for sure.
we have no such car here in USA;
for a fact 22 years made the spark systems are NO THE SAME
not old how may coil (HV) packs there are
1 pack (distributor ) year 2000?
2 packs, called wasted spark and 2 or 4 HV spark wires
4in1 pack bricks. one giant pack with 2 coils inside wasted spark.
4 packs called COPS, coil over plugs (sparks)
there you go 22 years of evolution of spark (and more powerful)_
my guess it is 2pack car, (or 4 pack brick)
in both cases, 2 /4 , the young kids working or boomers will not know what wasted spark does. and wired it all up backward
1>4 3>2 (ecu firing order is 1,3,4,2 for ever fixed)
Wasted spark fires. TDC
example 1 fires real ,and 4 fires wasted. wasted means wasted fining on the exhaust stroke. ( and saves owning 2 extra coils)
the magic of just 2 coils wired in series.
but if 1 HV wire is open 2 sparks die, OOPS?

my 1975 honda CB750 had it so is not new ever, this tech
what matters most of all is moving the HV spark wires 1 by 1
never just throwing the wires there. guessing.
HV means the 20,000 volt high voltage wire set.
and last ( causes)_
Some are , even year 2000, had s fire wall igniter block that drives all coil packs and sure that can fail too.
later years the ignitor was moved to the COIL packs.(cops)
and last last, ECU bad to spark coil inputs.
new year told
no engine told
no country told
a hard row to hoe, or a tough nut to crack.

good luck finding real tech. how knows his craft and the evolution of it.(complex)

Spark plugs wire's can they get to hot and start melting from motor?

Newer cars run hot enough under the hood to cause belts, hoses and spark plug wires to break down more quickly than older cars, so yes, plug wires that are old may start to melt, especially if car runs hot or is used in hot climate. Wires should be changed every 3 to 5 years, or even more often in hot climates or high performance use. Use only OEM quality or better wires.

My 2001 Lincoln Continental has been sitting for over two years, It did start for about a minute but it wont start again. what can I do

BATTERY DEAD MORE LIKELY.CAR BEEN SITTING FOR 2 YEARS GAS IN FUEL TANK WEAK FULL OF WATER, YOU NEED TO REMOVE DRAIN OUT OLD FUEL IN THE FUEL TANK. YOU NEED ADD NEW FUEL IN FUEL TANK,CHANGE FUEL FILTER, IF CAR BEEN SITTING FOR TWO YEARS.I WOULD REMOVE SPARK PLUGS ONE AT A TIME REMOVE EACH SPARK PLUG SQUIRT FEW DROPS OF OIL INTO CYLINDER THEN REINSTALL SPARK PLUG, REASON I SAY TO DO THIS PROCEDURE IT HELP PISTON RINGS SEAL UP ENOUGH TO BUILD UP COMPRESSION SO YOU CAN START THE ENGINE WHERE IT BEEN SITTING TOO LONG.YOU NEED CHANGE ANTIFREEZE AND THERMOSTAT.REPLACE RADIATOR HOSES TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE,REPLACE AIR FILTER.

04 sunfire drove perfect all day but just as I was pulling in my parking lot it started shaking real bad....what could be wrong?

Sounds like an engine misfire, One of the cylinders isn't firing correctly, You could have a bad spark plug or injector, but that year sunfire were known for faulty ignition coils. If the shake was severe enough it would indicate a coil issue because 2 out of you 4 cylinders aren't firing properly (a coil controls spark to 2 cylinders at a time). To be sure have it checked out at a garage, if the check engine light is on have it scanned at a large parts retailer (usually for free) or at a locate reliable garage. It would better determine the cause of the shaking.

My volvo v70 has failed the french mot test due to high emissions ; the cat con is only 2 years old ; what is the best way to approach this prob

CHANGE THE OIL TO TOP QUALITY OIL THEN CHANGE THE SPARK PLUGS TO BETTER SPARK MOST PROBABLY IRIDIUM THEN CHANGE THE AIR FILTER TO A BMG AIR FILTER (THIS AIR FILTER DOESNT EVER NEED CHANGING) THEN FILL THE PETROL (IF IT NOT DIESEL) WITH HIGH OCTANE (98ron) AND ADD RACING OCTANE BOOST TO THE PETROL TANK AND THAT WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM AND YOUR CAR WILL GO A HELL OF ALOT BETTER YOULL SAVE ON FUEL ALSO THE IRIDIUM SPARK PLUGS DONT HAVE TO BE CHANGED FOR AT LEAST 100.000KLM HOPFULLY THE PETROL AND MORE AIR GOING IN WILL HELP

Anything special i should do when taking my g37x sport out of storage after 5 months.car is in heated garage...

Heated or not, condensation in the upper cylinders may have caused some rust to form on the piston rings and other steel parts. These minute rust particles can be highly abrasive and cause damage.

To minimize this, remove the spark plugs and spray into the holes a small amount of high quality motor oil such as Mobil1 5w-30. Do not replace the spark plugs, then with the ignition disabled, crank the engine for 2 seconds, pause for 5 seconds; crank for 3 seconds pause for 5 seconds; and crank for 5 seconds. This will help pre-lubricate surfaces that have become "dry."

Then replace spark plugs and you are ready to go. Keep speeds below 10 mph if tires have developed flat spots, until they are gently warmed up and rounded out. Drive the car for several hours to flush out any pooled contaminant moisture, acid, or particles, Have the oil and filter changed before they can cause any damage.

Note: Removing the spark plugs is an involved procedure. Do a search on "changing spark plugs on g37" to view the steps.

My car was frozen ( below 32 degree) for two weeks. I pulled it into the garage and let it sit. It's about 45 degrees in the garage. The engine turns over, there is fuel getting to the cylinders and I am...

change the spark plugs, after they sit in cold and you warm them up to 45 degrees or whatever and you try to start the car the spark is just hot enough to ruin them, especially if they havn't been changed lately and theres a lot of miloes on them

Change spark plug wires on 04 kia sedona

REMOVAL OF THE PLUGS:

Do not attempt any maintenance on spark plug if engine is hot.
1. Disconnect negative battery terminal.
2. Carefully remove high-tension leads.
3. Use compressed air to blow any dirt or debris from around spark plug hole.
4. Check that spark plug fits squarely in spark plug socket and remove spark plug.

Raise a vehicle and install SST(OK552 131 001) in order to replace cylinder 2, 4, 6 spark plug.

INSTALLATION:

1. Install spark plug into cylinder head.

Tightening torque : 18~22lb-ft (25~30N·m, 2.5~3.0kg-m)

2. Reconnect high-tension leads.
3. Reconnect negative battery cable.

Hope this helps and simple to understand. Good luck
