My cj7 will dart to the left really fast then back to the right

First check your tire pressures and make sure they're up. Then you might consider changing out your steering stabilizer (steering shock) and have your front end (components checked)

I have seen the frame crack from metal fatigue behind the steering box invisible to normal inspection. Watch for movement of the unit while someone turns your steering wheel. Possibly bent suspension components due to severe off-roading?

its a lot of work but the straight 6 amc 258s always idle poorly the idle just fast enogh not to stall

start the engine and see if the fluid is pumping if not shut it off and try and pull out on the pulley, the pump shafts on those are known for breaking right behind the pulley

Hot means poor connection. You are on the right track.

Check the fuel filter, and i would suggest replaceing the fuel in the tank. It only takes about a month for gas to start to deterioate and if it sat that ling there is probally some junk in the tank. witch probally caused the fuel filter to plug up.

should be right on the top not 100% sure but should be on right hand side up top

It maybe the relay but I would start by checking my wiring, harness, bulb sockes on the right side to the switch it self. An hour with a test light would ensure that all you need is a relay.

if you alter the steering and suspension in any way as far as changing factory settings you need to get an alingment it sounds like you have to much negative caster

try a drop pitman arm.
