The handle to the one of the auxiliary box under the steering wheel keeps popping open. the spring came off. how do i fix it?

I have all the parts, box, handle and spring, I just don't know how they all fit together so that the box doesn't keep on popping open on it's own. I should be able to pull the handle to open the box.

Hi
, perhaps you could check out you tube and see if anyone has put it on?
Its prob very straight forward, but not actually being able to see it makes it difficult. If you have all the parts, this suggests that, maybe, some part of the main housing may have been damaged. These units are usually as akward to remove as they are to refit...unless they are broken.
Have you tried to locate a second hand lid complete with catch?
good luck.

SOURCE: Horn fuse keeps popping

Turn key off, locate and unplug horn, install known good fuse and or ckt. brkr, push horn button, if fuse does not blow replace horn assy. If fuse blows you have a short on circuit wires. A well trained electrical tecnician should have no problems finding it, plus you'll need schematics. Good luck!!!

Fuse 26 (engine box) on my 2016 Ford F-150 King Ranch which controls power seat and steering wheel keeps blowing?

Look under the seat for wires that have been pinched or worn through and are touching to the chassis.

The other possibility is the Clock Spring inside the steering wheel.

If you can get to the connectors on both the steering wheel and the seats, and disconnect them, you can work out which is causing the issue.

I can't get my horn to work on my 2001 dodge caravan.

Do you have a air bag light lit on the instrument cluster ? I ask this because , if the air bag light is lit , could be a clock spring problem . I know ,what the heck is this guy talking about . You have a air bag on the steering wheel ,the horn button is on the steering wheel . The clock spring is located under the steering wheel , in the top of the steering coulmn . It has flat wire tape in side that allows the steering wheel to be turned full left to full right , keeping the horn , air bag , an any other button's on the steering wheel connected electricly to the vehicle. Plus there is a relay , when you push the horn button it energizes the relay turning on the horns. Watch these videos , will explain a little better .

How cars clock spring works

The horn relay is located in the under hood fuse box .

Which fuse to change for steering wheel lights and gear shifter lights 2010 ford edge

It's not a fuse , the SJB - smart junction box controls these lights ! This is fords body control module . If the Heater / A/C control panel ,hazard switch ,headlamp switch , message center switch all work, it is not a fuse . The gear shifter I would say the bulb is burnt out . The steering wheel lights could be out because of an open in the clock spring . The clock spring is a device inside the steering column under the steering wheel that keeps your horn , cruise control , radio buttons etc... connected electrically . How cars clock spring works

How do i open the hood.

there should be a lever that is on the bottom edge of dash that is under the steering wheel along the trim. if the handle is broken you can use pliers to grab the cable and pull it to get the hood to realse. if you found all that and i seems to work ok then when pulling the release lever have a friend hit or shake the hood to get it to pop up a little so that you can open it all the way.

U will have to pull the cable end using a plier at the broken handle under the steering and pop the hood. replacing the hole cable assembly is the next solution.

When I turn the steering wheel there is a popping sound when I'm just about as far to the left and sometimes to the right. I've been under there with someone turning the wheel a few times and I can't for...

It is either a rusty u-joint,or the strut/shock has a rubber or plastic piece the spring slides on when wheels are turned and when this keeps gunked up from road grime and rust the plastic or rubber fails to turn easy and then all the sudden breaks free when wheels are turned and the pop you hear is the strut spring snapping back, while it is annoying it won't hurt anything, but to fix it correctly you need to drop the strut and clean the upper plate and apply a good waterproof grease.

There is a clock spring under the steering wheel that provides power to the drivers airbag when turning the wheel, those are known to go out or get a short in them. Take the vehicle to Autozone and have them pull the codes for you to see which bag or sensor is causing the light. As for blowing the fuse I am leaning towards the clock spring since it is prone to high wear from constant turning of the wheel. Hope this helps.....

Horn blows when steering wheel is turned. Is is a short?

this is caused by a defective/shorted rotating ribbon contact under the steering wheel called a clock spring, to replace this part u must disarm the airbag remove it and the steering wheel and then replace the clock spring, this is a dealer only part.
