Why is my 96 camry spraying coolant?

There is a hole in the top of the overflow tank. But the puddle of coolant is on the other side of engine (drivers)

The overflow tank is not pressurised, so will not spray coolant around. The little hole is a breather. On the other side, possibilities are a cracked radiator top tank (it is plastic, and your Camry is about the right age to develop this), or a leaky hose or hose connection on the driver's side. Open the bonnet, wash the engine with a hose, allow it to completely dry, then start the engine and idle till hot, watching like a hawk with a torch to see where the leak appears. This is easier if you have a helper and the car is on wheel ramps.

SOURCE: still losing coolant

Hi, Sounds like the water pump is not circulating the water, as soon as the engine heats what water is in it, it will boil. Since you are brave enough to open the radiator when it is hot ( Bad Idea ! ) open it when it is cold, start the car and watch to see if the coolant circulates. You may have to wait unit the thermostat opens and if the water pump is bad when the thermostat opens it may spray hot coolant and steam instead of circulating what is in the radiator so don't be in the way. Not the best way to test this but works if you don't have diagnostic tools. Good Luck! By the way, coolant means antifreeze mixture which if it gets too thin lowers the boiling point significantly.

SOURCE: 96 Toyota Camry keys are not working to open

Try spraying some silicon lubricant into the keyhole and slide the key in and out a few times.

If this does not work you may have to remove the interior door panel and trouble shoot the lock mechanism.

It's also possible the lock cylinders are worn and need to be rebuilt. This can be done by a qualified locksmith (look for a AAA certified locksmith). Or you can order new lock cylinders and get them re-keyed to match your ignition key.

HOW TO LET THE AIR OUT THE COOLING SYSTEM ON A 2002 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

You should have a vacuum puller, but alternatively, you can purge it by letting in freon on the low side and opening the high side for about 4 seconds, that should purge all the air in the system.

On my 96 deville i have a coolent leak coming from passenger side of engine towards the fire wall by front tire

Hello: Check the coolant overflow tank, the hoses and the metal pipes the hoses attach to. If there is bubbling in the tank after driving the you may be low on coolant or have a blown head gasket problem.

Hello my 1994 camry toyota has a problem holding the water. We replaced the thermostat, fan switch, radiator cap, and it keeps comsuming the water. What do you think the problem might be? Javier

Javier, have you checked the coolant overflow tank for holes, cracks, or loose hose? When the engine in your car heats up, the coolant expands. The coolant overflow tank (located near the radiator) takes up any coolant that is forced out of the radiator. If the tank is damaged or not connected to the radiator correctly, the coolant will not siphon back into the cooling system when the engine cools off.

Antifreeze overflow from tank

I would check for visible cracks and leaking at the overflow tank when the engine is cold, then when the engine is running and at operating temperature and not running and at operating temperature as well as during cool down. Also check the coolant overflow hose for leaks or obstructions inside the hose or if the hose is kinked. Check to make sure that the overflow tank cap is damage free and securely fastened.

How to put anit-freeze in my car?

Vehicle has a coolant overflow reservoir which is a plastic tank on the passenger side engine compartment. This tank is white plastic with a green cap. This is where you can safely add coolant and the system and will be under no pressure as well. Pay attention to the level mark on the side of the plastic tank which is half full.Install 50/50 coolant water mixture into the reservoir. If you for any reason you to elect to remove the radiator cap,do so with a cold engine as the contents will be under pressure at normal operating temperatures which exceeds 200F.
