SOURCE: I changed the rear brakes on my Jetta tdi and now

you probably have air in the line after brakes are done refill resevoir with brake fluid then the caliper has a little screw for bleeding brakes you must pump brakes 2-3 times leave your foot down until you have someone else open the screw on the caliper to release air or sometimes brake fluid close screw and repeat until the petal gets hard again do it to both rear brakes see if this works..

The brake light bulbs on my 2003 beetle 1.9tdi are fine but wont come on when the pedal is pressed. If i remove the offside bulb and put it back, it comes on until the ignition is turned over then goes out...

There's a brake light switch down on the top of your brake pedal. This switch actuates when you step on the pedal. If it goes bad you have brake lights all the time, or not at all.

Here's some instructions and photos (the instructions may be ridiculously offensive to some)

I have a vw bora 1.9 tdi and the heater plug light has started flashing and the car says engine workshop

There are a number of different causes of this problem. Check all glow plugs. Check glow plug relay. If both are ok....This may seem unusual...Check the brake light switch situated at brake pedal. A faulty brake light switch will cause the glow plug light to flash
Good luck with it

Brake Switch

follow brake pedal all the way up
you have to lay on your back with a flash lite
on the pedal there will be a backwards bolt this adjusts the brake light switch for deplition or engage ment
if your missing that bolt brake lights will stay on you will find a hole there
across from that hole or bolt (if there) you will see the brake switch thats how the bolt presses the brakes on and off
have a buddy watch tail lights as you press the switch there in
its simple not much else needed
you probably missing the bolt find a flat bolt about 1 inch long 2 nuts these are adjustment nuts
