Refrigerant is added at the low side charging port, this port is located in the low side AC line from the AC compressor, it is the larger of the two AC lines from the AC compressor, you add until the pressure is stable at around 28-32 PSI with AC on.

How much oil does air condition system on 2001 cavalier hold

If you're putting oil in your air conditioning system, you should probably get the entire system replaced. A/C needs freeon/refrigerant. Do yourself a favour and get a mechanic friend or even an actual mechanic to do this for you.

Air conditioner blows cool not cold air

- Keep the knob on RECIR and not FRESH.
- Put the air con ON, blower on max speed.
- Open the hood, inspect the inspection window glass located on the liquid line.
- If foam like bubbles are seen, charge the refrigerant gas, till the glass window is seen clear. Never overcharge the system.
- If the problem persists, check the following:
Refrigerant volume
Refrigerant pressure
Heater control base (for Hatchback)
Heater control base (for Sedan)
Air conditioning pressure sensor
Compressor and pulley
Expansion valve -
Air conditioning amplifier
ECM
CAN communication
The following diagram may help you identify the components.

2002 Pontiac grand am air conditioner not blowing cold air

Sounds like your refrigerant is low/out. There is a product you can buy at your local wal-mart/auto store called EZ Chill Auto Air Conditioning Refrigerant. I've used this item personally in my own vehicals and it works awsome. One bottle comes with everything you need including detailed instructions and is super easy to put in. Costs anywhere from $25-35. Well worth it...hope this helps.

A/c not blowing cold a/c light comes on but no cold air

Hi,

When your car air conditioning is blowing hot air, this means that refrigerant cannot absorb the heat coming from your car passenger compartment.

This kind of problem often cause by a refrigerant leak or a clogged condenser.

If you have a steady reduction of cold air from your car air conditioning system, the possibility is that the refrigerant is slowly leaking out of the hose or seal.

Another reason for the gradual reduction of cold air produce by your car air conditioning system is the clogged condenser but this is only a contributing factor.

To solve the problem you are experiencing, you must first check the condenser for dirt, debris or bug that is building up outside the car condenser, this is the part that is like a mini-radiator mounted in front of your car radiator;

Try to clean this with a soft brush also, spraying with pressurized water will do. This will improve your car air conditioning problem.

However,if the problem persists,it means you have to refill your airconditioner compressor with a refrigerant(freon gas).

Good luck!!!

My 2000 camry air conditioning air sometimes gets hot

There are a couple of things things that could cause this. The first thing i would check is your refrigerant level. Low refrigerant would cause your compressor to turn off. The next thing i would check is a restriction in your A/C lines. A restriction would cause a pressure difference allowing ice to build up in side your A/C lines and not allowing your refrigerant to cycle normally, and of course once the ice melted your a/c will work again.

Air Conditioning

Low side only, this means you have to charge the unit in the thicker line of the compressor NOT the thin line as this is the HI SIDE and the refrigerant bottle could explode.
