Engine change rebuild

I was doing some research and can't seem to find any credible detailed info or better yet some type of u-tube or related videos on rebuilding or even reassembling my Previa 2.4 L non-turbo engine. I removed the head because it was cracked. I already learned here that removing the entire engine/drivetrain is the better way to go. Thanx for all your help. [email protected] Yours, JAF

SOURCE: S70 GLT head replacement

the easiest way to remove the head is to completely remove the exhaust manifold from the engine and turbo assy. you CAN just unbolt it from the engine , but it takes a good bit of wiggling to get it off if you are leaving thre manifold in the car

Spits and spuders then dies

Asumeing you didn't junp a tooth on your timeing chain witch you could check from the pisition of the rotor in relation to the # 1 spark plug wire on your distubotr cap at top dead center # 1 cylinder at the top of the compression stroke it should line up if thats OK. Then i would say rebuild your carburator its 30 or 40 dollars for the kit and detailed instructions are in clueded in the kit on the disassemble and adjustments and its not hard to do i have an 85 do it every 5 or 6 years makes lots of problems go away much better gas milage pays for it self in a couple of months. You will need a couple cans of cleaner with the little red tubes to spray out the passages but its a two hour project even if it takes four the vehicle will run so much better you won't belive it good luck

What type of oil would i use for my 2004 jeep grand cherokee?

The manufacturer generally recommends a 10w-30 oil. That's fine except that after years of research I've found that using a 20w 40 or a full synthetic with the same or better numbers is far better.
Without a long explanation of why, I'll just say that it is far superior as far as being thermally stable and resistant to mechanical shear and contamination while it offers less friction at all moving or sliding internal parts. You can look up noac volitility tests on google for more tech info.
I use synthetics in all my vehicles including race cars and have never had an oil related breakdown ever. My street engines last well over 300 thousand miles!!!
Additives like lucas and marvel oil are good but mostly unnecessary with synthetics. You will likely get a ton of responses on this but my info is proven and valid!!!
Good luck with your Jeep!!
