SOURCE: why is my 1992 325i bmw overheating

Most BMWs with the M-50/52 series engines(this is the one with all the black covers, 24 valve type) overheat for one of a few reasons. Most common, the coolant leaked out, and now the car can't circulate coolant to cool itsself off. Second, air may have gotten into the system and you are experiencing what is called airlock. This is where the water pump has air in it, and can't push water. You fix this by running it for a bit to make it warm up and pressurize, and bleed the air out using the bleed screw on the radiator; it's right on top. Next problem you can run into, is the water pump may have gone bad. BMW make the bright decision to put plastic impellers on their water pumps, which would break, and not pump water. If this is so on your car, order one that you KNOW is metal, and get the problem out of the way. Make sure that you have the air out of the system before you try to drive it anywhere, or it'll overheat anyways. Finally, and least likely, is the head gasket. Usually these engine will fling oil all over the inside of the engine compartment before they will overheat due to a head gasket. Hopefully this helped you out, and if you have any additional questions, comment on it, as I check back to make sure they're solved.

Ok i start my bmw 1992 325i take bleeder screw out top water up to top air comes out then stops but if leave like that it starts over flowing out of plastic tank then heats up bubbling and where the little...

Just did my 95 525i. Most importantly, make sure all of the air is out, then tighten the bleeder. Let it run. If the reservoir is over flowing than it's over full. Keep an eye on the temp. gauge for bout 15 min. If it goes over normal operating temp. you still have air in the radiator and need too bleed more.

Is there a website to look at where the thermostat is located on a 1995 BMW 325i?

You can download a service manual at this site.

http://www.pdfee.com/bmw-3-series-1992-1998-service-manual.html

Usually the thermostat is located where the top radiator hose goes into the front of the engine. The piece that the host clamps to on the engine should have 2 bolts that bolt it to the engine. The thermostat is between that hose barb and the engine.

How to put on a/c compressor

I would refer you to a Haynes or Chilton auto repair manual to find your a/c compressor. It is normally on top of your motor to the left side and has normally a couple of 1 and half inch to 2 inch hoses with pressed hydraulic lines feeding into it. If you are looking for a replacement www.discountparts.com has cheap replacement parts for your BMW. I hope this information helps you!
