I have a 1994 pontiac bonneville se, there is a metal like housing unit that is a part of the steering column that causes the turn signal to click when you pull the lever. The lever plugs in the the wiper...

This sounds like that actual turn signal switch assembly. To replace it you must remove the steering wheel and disassemble the column a little. This takes some special tools and skill.

1986 volkswagen windshield wipers will not turn off?

look for signs of a windshield leaking water into fuse/relay box- located near pedals under dash. Also remove small plastic trim below steering wheel ( 2 screws) and unplug black connector with 6 or 8 wires directly under steering column. Turn key on if wipers are stopped then your switch is bad- steering wheel must be removed to change switch.

1984 pontiac parisienne how to replace ignition switch

The ignition switch is on top of the steering column. You will have to remove the trim piece under the steering column and then loose the 2 bolts (1/2 inch) that holds the steering column. Watch your shift ind if it starts to move you will have to unhook ( silver or black clip with a small cable attached to it). Make sure you unhook the battery and block the wheels to keep the car from rolling. The switch uses the same bolts and the dimmer switch. Remove old switch and install new switch.
