stalls how fast. 1 to 10 seconds if yes, is IMMO lamp failing?
does engine fail
in PARK too is the CVT transmission failing in DRIVE.? of 4 transmissions used. if only jerks in drive , CVT is sick.

check all fuses yet.
scan the PCM for SURE when jerking (engine Misfiring)?

If the engine is failing (50 causes)
does it have 16 year old
spark plugs?>
16 year old COP boots, all nasty and carbon tracked bad.
oil lamp , there are 2, one is pressure loss and 2nd is oil nag timer
we cant see the icon of the lamp to know.
the real oil lamp comes on at any stall doing the cluster self test
if the engine RPM falls below 800 rpm do to gross misfiring
the real oil lamp sure can and will come on.
real mans not silly OIL NAG, << we ignore that.

can the stall be voided with a fast right foot>.?
parked or in drive?
safe if engine misfires, (heard or felt) in PARK.
so we can cut the job in 1/2 (diagnosis)

Regardless if your '07 Dodge Caliber has a 1.8L or a 2.0L engine, the transmission fluid capacity is the same. What will make a difference is the type and size of any auxiliary coolers that the vehicle may or may not utilize, and what type of service you are performing. For example, if the transmission is being overhauled and the torque converter is empty, the "dry fill" capacity is 8.6 quarts. On the other hand (and much more likely), if the transmission is being serviced inside the vehicle, the "service fill" capacity is 7.4 quarts. Be sure to only use the manufacturer recommended Mopar CVT+4 or equivalent; not all transmission fluids are the same and adding an incorrect type could damage the transmission. Had the same overheating issue with mine @ 213,000 miles. I had had the fluid changed out by the dealer and the system flushed at 105,000. . . This time I did it myself, $ 142.00 for 2 gallons of cvt tran fluid from dealer, gasket & new filter from Summit racing (23.00). . . ****** take 7.50 qts. once drained ! Cur runs great now !

you are right in that oil does deteriorate and needs changing every so often
and yes it is quite expensive because it is a special oil designed specifically for cv transmissions and is not the oil used in automatic transmissions
remembering that some cv transmissions run rubber and steel belts and others run link belt chains make sure that the oil you use is specific to that transmission or it will fail in side 20,000 klms
as for the quantity
when you are removing the pan and collecting it , that amount will give you a starting point and it will be close to the 4 quarts

You'll notice what appears to be a dipstick tube at the front of the vehicle on the drivers side, and it should have a warning label to use CVT oil. But when you remove the top, there's no stick. The dipstick itself is a "special tool" (Miller No. 9336). The stick is marked for fluid levels for different temperatures, although there is an acceptable range.
Read the instructions carefuly that come with the tool

if its a cvt transmission... it has no dip stick cause it has no transmission fluid... transmission is run on 3 belts internaly
