It takes about 10-15 mins to start. have to keep turning the igintions before it starts

ALWAYS check the body grounds first. Ground to the dash gages could be faulty, dirty, or just not tight enough to make a good connection.

check all your fuse under bonnet or under driver or passenger compartment site.i like to know if you have immobilizer alarm in your car.

sounds like either your battery or altenator is bad.

Try turning the steering wheel back and forth like a giggle while turning the igintion by hand.Iunderstand the wheel wont turn but it will a little each way.If this doesn't work take the lower piece of the colume of to get access to igintion.Hope this helps.

Battery are in most case only good for 4 years and after that they can no longer hold a charge. Have the truck boosted to start the engine, you may need to let the battery charge up for 120 min before trying to start the truck.
Once started, check the voltage at the battery, you should have a reading of 13.5 to 14 volts. If you have less then 13.5 volts, you most likely have a bad alternator and needs to be replaced.
If your readings are good and there is 13.5 volts, your battery is bad and needs to be replace. The battery can no longer hold a charge and at worst there is a short in the battery it self causing it to loose charge like leaving a light on.

bad battery can make lights work but no start. a bad starte cable to the starter will do this also. my geuss is a bad starter. remove it and take to a chain auto parts tore. they test it for free. a bad igintion switch will do this also

disconnect battery turn igintion to position 1 reconnect the battery then start may take a few attepts but does work

The security system will keep it from turning over on that model. You need to try a 30 minute theft learn. Follow these instructions closely. Try to start the car, then leave the key on for 10 min. Turn the key off, 2 or 3 seconds. Turn the key back on, do not try to start the car this time, leave the key on for 10 min. Turn the key off again, turn it back to run, do not try to start it again, leave it for 10 more minutes. Then turn it off, and then try to crank it. If it is a security problem and it is not the ignition damaged it will crank. Good Luck. Mike From Texas.

My 1999 alero was doing the same thing a few years back. I took it to the shop and they told me it had something to do with my ignition (it was several years ago so I can't remember exactly what they said). It was sort of an expensive fix. It hasn't done it since. I hope that helps a little.
