SOURCE: R12 to R134
You have to have the R12 completely evacuated. This is done at a repair facility that works on A/C. The only thing after that is screwing on 2 fittings to your existing lines and charge your system. Companies make retro-fit kits so the owner can do it themselves. These kits are available at most part stores.

On my 2002 century the low pressure connection is in tnhe center of the engine compartment at the top againt the firewall just below the hood. It has a black screw-on cover.

Follow kit instructions on can and attatch hose then twist top valve stem puncture can exactly as described. back out valve to relaese refrigerant in line .. Rock can top to bottom as it flows into running engine compressor Must be running !
