Where does the fresh air snorkel connect to the valve cover on a 2006 Pontiac torrent? Check engine light is on (P0171 code)

Check engine light was on so I brought it to the dealer. They said that the fresh air snorkel was disconnected at the valve cover. They reconnected it and the CEL went out. Well the light came back on and I would like to reconnect the hose rather than bring it back to the dealer.

to clear the codes stored remove the negative battery cable for about five minutes. Reistall the cable then turn the car on the light should be out . If it comes back on then there is a fault with one of your sensors and you need to pull the code

you can take it to autozone the will test it for free to see if it something else

disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, this will reset the light, but if the problem that turned the light is no repaired the light will come on again in a few days.

They pull off just like any other vehicle, unless you live in an area where they use salt. Brake and suspension parts on these rust and sieze quickly. Soak with penetrating oil and keep tapping around perimiter. I do this for a living, and I've had Torrent drums take me hours to break loose (I'm surprised the wheels even came off)

Under the front seats you have wires going to your seat belt anchors.These wires are atached to a sensor witch activate the air bags if the anchors have force pull on them.The wires have plugs under the seat.Disconnect the plugs and spray with electical cleaner and replace.Make sure the ignition is switched off befor you attemt doing.90%of the time this will work.good luck.

Hope this helps. A note though, the forward-most valve cover gets fresh, filtered air from the snorkel tube that comes from the air cleaner to the throttle body. A recall changed the source of this fresh air from the pipe along the firewall to the air cleaner, instead sourcing it from the snorkel tube in a futile attempt to prevent engine fires. The rear-most valve cover contains the PCV valve and goes directly to the bottom of the intake plenum.
The "Elek Vac Reg" in the picture is actually called the EGR vacuum control solenoid and it's 'diagnostic' switch. the hose that looks like it goes nowhere should actually be attached to the smaller pipe that runs along the firewall with the 'old, pre-recall' PCV fresh air pipe to the sir cleaner. This hose was left intact after the recall.
If you have cruise control, I believe it just has one line that gets hooked into a Tee that was installed in the canister's constant vacuum supply.
