SOURCE: 2000 lincoln ls heater not working...thermostat?

- If temp guage reads normal, the lack of heat may be due to the Heater Control Valve. Located in front of the radiator. Lower passenger side. A real bugger to replace.
- The plastic cap just over the thermostat is key in re-filling the anti freeze and bleeding air.

First of all you need to understand what is happening: One of your car's computers is seeing a problem in the ABS and/or traction control system. 1. If your ABS goes out, the result is just that you don't have 'ABS'. Your brakes will work the same as any other power brake system. 2. If your Traction Control goes out, you now have just the 'limited slip' differential cars have used since 1910. Unless you use alot of ice and snow covered and gravel roads, there isn't really any need for a 'locking' differential. That's essentially what traction control is. Neither problem present a safety issue.
There is one component that both systems share, and fail often - the wheel sensor. The wheel sensor tells the computer if a particular wheel is "slipping", or losing traction. If this happens while braking, it sets an 'ABS' trouble code. Otherwise it sets a Traction Control light. In normal driving, it will set both if it's a wheel sensor.
This car should be taken to a competent mechanic which will probably: (First) erase the codes with a code scanner and drive the car to see if they come back. There's a slim possibility that these are just 'errant codes'. (Second), if the lights come back on, test the wheel sensors and replace the bad one(s). There is no need to go to the dealer for this repair, as it would probably cost twice as much! Any good technician should also thoroughly check your braking system as a rule of thumb. Good Luck! Please let me know what you find out.

have the car scanned with a scanner capable of reading ABS codes, get back to me with the code and we'll go from there. sounds like like one of the wheel sensors is bad. this controls both ABS and TRACTION CONTROL

2001 Lincoln LS V6. Had the fuel pumps replaced about 3 months ago. Now the power to fuel pump "comes and goes" (I have the back seat out and pump covers off so I can hear). The fuse in the trunk...

The vehicle has one fuel pump and it is controlled by the rear electronic module .
Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html
Enter the vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine . Under system click on Engine , then under subsystem click on fuel controls . Then click the search button , then click the first blue link . The fourth diagram down . You will see fuel pump relay , rear control module , fuel pump module ! I would check the rear electronic module .

We have a 2005 lincoln ls traction control light stays on and loss of engine power.dealership said we basicly needed a tune up,but they wanted $2400.00 to fix it.we did not let them fix it.

Haven't been tune-ups in over 30 years
OBD 1&2 Electronics took care of that.

You only have preventative maintainance items such as spark plugs, gas filter, air filter, cabin filter, and flushing all fliuds.

I have a 2004. You can not work on that vehicle or any of todays vehicles without a professional scanner and oscilloscope.
The Traction Control Light is part of the ABS Braking System. Could be a Wheel Speed Sensor, you have four.
Loss of power is a separate issue ,and one you will be living with ,as long as you own an LS. Anything from what seens like a good battery, to bad ignition coils,Egr Valve,Throttle Sensor,Etc
First pull the codes and work on the Traction Light issue, then go to the Drivability Issues.

I wouldn't recommend a Dealer, if your not doing your own work. Go down the street to the nearest repair shop. Go for a ride with the person who will be diagnosing your issues. Only authorize work when they can prove they found a problem. Road test after repairs and before paying. Very,Very Difficult to diagnose LS Problems.

Speedometer,mileage does'nt work,abs,traction,brake lights r on

no it does not; this is a massive short in the electrical system and, requires the services of an auto electrician like myself.
take the car in to an ASE certified auto electrical shop and, stop spending money on temporary fixes
the technicians can read the schematics and, fix your car right
