SOURCE: 2000 Jeep Cherokee. Downstream O2 sensor wiring

I does not matter with the two white. They are both either a ground or power, I just don't remember witch, but either way they work the same.

It is the black and gray that matter.

Hope this helps.

2010 Dodge Caliber 02 sensor wire clip bad ,new O2 sensor has no clip need to know what 4 wires wire together

The 2010 Dodge Caliber O2 sensor wiring has four wires: two white, one gray, and one black. The wires are typically color-coded, so you should be able to match them up with the wires on the replacement O2 sensor.
Here is how the wires are typically connected:
  • White wire: Sensor signal wire
  • White wire with black stripe: Sensor signal ground wire
  • Gray wire: Heater power supply
  • Black wire: Heater ground
You can use a multimeter to confirm the correct wires if you're unsure.

O2 sensors wiring diagrams

Locate the wires running off from the O2 sensor. There should be two. The black wire is the ground wire. The other wire, which may vary in color, supplies power to the sensor.

  • 2 Connect the power lead to the corresponding connector on the chassis's wiring harness.
  • 3 Connect the black, or ground, lead to the corresponding connector on the factory wiring harness.
  • 3 wires, "how do i wire it" are simply explained. all universal 3 wire o2 sensors will have 2 wires one color, the other wire a different color. the 2 that are the same color are ground and power for the heater and it doens't matter which one is which. so ground to the motor, power from the gray wire on the fuel pump, or anywhere you want to pull 12 volts while the car is running. i have a dedicated fan relay that doesn't use the ecm and runs off the key, so thats where i went. the different color wire goes to the stock sensor wire, it's the signal.

Bosch 02 sensor downstream on a 1996 Jeep grand cherokee 4.0 motor. I have no wire harness to match the colors to. bosch has two white, one grey and one black. Jeep has orange/green,black/brown,black/blue...

The two white are the heater
    The black the ground
The gray the O2 Sensor output,
you back probe to check Voltage
    & Switching Times

The vehicle wiring harness does not have to match
the sensor, BUT -- you need to have the same
    connector on the sensor

If you have a universal cut & splice, you have junk,
and we given the wrong part

Get a Bosch or NGK, OEM sensor & just
    plug it in

I need to know which connectors go to which O2 Sensors on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7L 4WD. Can you help?

Hi, the easiest way to tell is by the signal wire color. These are the signal wire colors:
    right front: dark blue/pink stripe
left front: dark blue/light blue stripe
    right rear: Brown
    left rear: dark blue/yellow stripe

Need to know where o2sensor plugs in

You just have to start at the O2 Sensor and follow the wires up to where the plug is located. It will be within 18 to 24 inches from the O2 Sensor.

I've changed all of the o2 sensors in my 2004 jeep grand cherokee, and the check engine light keeps coming on, saying the o2 sensonrs are bad

The wiring harnesses for the O2 sensors run right next to the exhaust manifold, and get incredibly hot, sometimes causing the wires within the harness to crack or break. This would cause your problems. Have a look at the harness and let me know what you find.

Four wires (circuits) are used on each O2 sensor:

    • 12–volt feed circuit for the sensor heating element
    • Ground circuit for the heater element
    • Low-noise sensor return circuit to the PCM
    • Input circuit from the sensor back to the PCM to detect sensor operation

O2S Sensor removal Never apply any type of grease to the oxygen sensor electrical connector, or attempt any soldering of the sensor wiring harness.
WARNING: THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD, EXHAUST PIPES AND CATALYTIC CONVERTER(S) BECOME VERY HOT DURING ENGINE OPERATION. ALLOW ENGINE TO COOL BEFORE REMOVING OXYGEN SENSOR.
    1. Raise and support vehicle.
    2. Disconnect O2S pigtail harness from main wiring harness.
    3. If equipped, disconnect sensor wire harness mounting clips from engine or body.
CAUTION: When disconnecting sensor electrical connector, do not pull directly on wire going into sensor.
    4. Remove O2S sensor with an oxygen sensor removal and installation tool.

    02S Sensor installation
Threads of new oxygen sensors are factory coated with anti-seize compound to aid in removal. DO NOT add any additional anti-seize compound to threads of a new oxygen sensor.
    1. Install O2S sensor. Tighten to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N·m) torque.
    2. Connect O2S sensor wire connector to main wiring harness.
    3. If equipped, connect sensor wire harness mounting clips to engine or body. When Equipped: The O2S pigtail harness must be clipped and/or bolted back to their original positions on engine or body to prevent mechanical damage to wiring.

    Universal o2 censor has 2 white 1gray 1black existing wires areblack/tan dkgreen/orng blk/ltbl blk/pink

First what do you mean by a universal o2 sensor? You must make sure that you have the right o2 sensor, most newer vehicles have four o2 sensors 2 upstream and 2 downstream, upstream and downstream are meant to show where the sensors are in relation to the catalatic converter, some o2 sensors have 1 wire or up to 4 wires most with four wires are heated o2 sensors so you need to be sure you ve gotten the right o2 sensor for you vehicle as well as the right replacement for the proper location! My experience is that most after market o2 sensors have the same colored wires as the vehicle. Also most o2 sensors have electrical plugs? If you need help finding the right o2 sensor for your vehicle then please dont be affraid to ask!

I have a 1998 chevy malibu what wire for the o2 sensor is the signal wire and theres four to choose from

On the front O2 Sensor, the signal wire s Purple. On the rear O2 Sensor, the signal wire is Purple and White. (You will probably have to look at the wire colors on the main harness side of the O2 Sensor connector, not on the sensor itself.)
