SOURCE: I HAVE A 97 PONTIAC

go on the internet search for remote start companies you will find one with a wiring diagram, it does not have to be a diagram for a grand am, you just want to know which wire to cut, the use an ohm meter (cost $8) to find the resistance value. go to radio shack get a resistor of that value (or a group of resistors of that value) connect the cut wires with the resistor inbetween and the car should start.you will have to remove the instrument cluster and starter switch to get at the wires, it really isnt that bad.

SOURCE: 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix

This vehicle is equipped with PASS-Key III (Personalized Automotive Security System) theft-deterrent system; this is a passive theft-deterrent system. This means nothing special needs to be done to arm or disarm the system.

It works when the key is inserted or removed from the ignition. PASS-Key III uses a transponder in the ignition key that matches a decoder in the vehicle.

Disarming with the Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter:
The alarm system will disarm when the remote keyless entry transmitter is used to unlock the doors. The red light will go out to show that the system is disarmed.

Disarming with Your Key:
The alarm system will disarm when the key is used to unlock the doors. The red light will stop flashing when the system is disarmed. If you would like the key to disarm the alarm system, see "Personal Programming Mode Screens" under DIC Controls and Displays (Base Level DIC) on page 3-52 or DIC Controls and Displays (Uplevel DIC with Trip Computer) on page 3-60 for more information of your Owners Manual.

When trying to start the vehicle, if the engine does not start and the STARTING DISABLED DUE TO THEFT SYSTEM warning message on the Driver Information Center (DIC) comes on, the key may have a damaged transponder. Turn the ignition off and try again.

If the engine still does not start, and the key appears to be undamaged, try another ignition key. At this time, you may also want to check the fuse. See Fuses and Circuit Breakers on page 5-112. If the engine still does not start with the other key, the vehicle needs service. If the vehicle does start, the first key may be faulty. See your dealer who can service the PASS-Key® III to have a new key made.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: 2004 GRAND PRIX RADIO THEFTLOCK REMOVE

You need to enter the unique code for your radio that was given to the orig owner. If you do not have that you will need to see the GM dealer.

2001 Grand Prix. How do I clear tehe anti-theft security lockout?

The system only activates like this if there is a defect in the systems operation, you must have the security system scanned to see what is causing the unwanted activation. This is a dealer level repair.

How do I reset the anti theft system on a 2004 Pontiac grand prix

Its sounds like the anti theft system has failed. This is very common in GM cars. This has happened to me so I know your frustration. There is a site that has a lot of information on how to bypass/ permanently fix it. You can actually do it yourself for far less then what a mechanic would charge. Hope this helps!
