No manual for 97 xk8 ... cannot get radio code..

I understand they are not adjustable in the normal sense and are self leveling via a servo motor that determines the ride attitude and moves the lights accordingly. Find a jag owners forum as to what to do next.

Youll have to take it to the dealer, and trust me, I do not recommend the dealer ever, so I dont write this lightly.

Due to maximum message length limit, I will post details on separate messages:

ASC is short for "automatic stability control" u will need to have the ABS/Traction control system tested by the dealer for a possiable fault code.

Seems likely it is just a transmission cable adjustment needed. Please see my whole note (not a musical whole note) above under Clarification...

I would try to find a performance shop that builds transmissions. It could be a $80 u-joint and they can it check it and replace it in an hour once they get parts.
Two other ways to go are to have your trans rebuilt at the performance shop or have them locate a Salvage trans and pay them to inspect it and install it.
Ford used some Ford parts on Jags and a 1998 should not be that hard to get parts for.

I just bought my 1998 XK8 and it still has the owners manual. It says that there was a code for the radio on a card that was issued with the car when it was purchased. (no card was in the book I recieved) It goes on to say that if you lose the card the only way to get the radio code is to contact a Jag dealer with proof of ownerhsip and they will provide a code.
