if its stock alarm, you must close all the doors and lock then unlock it using the pwr lock button. If this doesnt work try the same method with the key set to ON...hopefully this helpd!!
now you know what sets off the nissan alarm.lock the car, with the key, hold key over for 30secs then unlock with remote.should reset system....you unlocked the car manually so you need to lock the car manually....
Hook up the battery, then put your key in the door lock and lock and unlock the door. That should cancel the antitheft. If it doesnt work on the drivers side move to the pass. side door.
Most likely a security system has been added over the factory system and it activates when the doors are closed. Remove the door panel and look for wires that appear to be out of place, connectors that are not factory or modules that should be there.
Hey, I bought my 1995 Nissan Maxima GLE brand new back in July 1994 with factory installed alarm, it just doen't make any sound when you arm or disarm it with remote. The only way you can tell whether it is armed or disarmed is from the lever position of your doors and the blinking red light under the dash. Only the newer versions of Nissan/Infiniti's has the "Audio/Silent" mode button on the remote which allows you to activate/deactivate you car alarm with an audiable sound or no sound at all. No worry, there is nothing wrong with your remote or car alarm.
You can try to use another key if you have one, get one made. Also try to lock and unlock the doors, if this does not help you will need to bring vehicle to shop with high end scan tool so they can monitor what part of the security system is activating. Thanks
If there is no original remote try to find a switch that may be hidden but accessible from the drivers seat, if the alarm is no longer needed find an auxilliary wire that may be on the battery or the fuse panel, if original there may be a fuse under the hood, pull the fuse and it should disable the alarn system.
If you use the drivers outside door lock to unlock the vehicle it should disarm the vehicle. emmissionwiz is correct, you can't simply shut the factory alarm off.
