pull lever a little so you can remove cable from the retainer and using a pliers or tool grab cable and pull back on cable (lot of cables stretch ) if broken cable will slide easy if not should release latch when opened adjust and lube latch
This sounds all to familiar. I was an owner of one of these 2004 amantis as well. If youre 100,000+; sell it before the real problems start. Its a design flaw; I just about flipped when mine did this so I have been there. Only way is to slim jim the door and then pop the hood& pray for power after jumping. The key in the door wont work bc its electric; same goes for key faub, all keyed entry doors,& the trunk! I dont know what these guys were thinkin or smoking when they designed this model. Good luck!
Have some one hold the hood release lever open while you push down on the front of the hood. You may have to repeat this a few times and the latch should release. After you get it open make sure to lube both the latch mechanism as well as the cable. This should take care of your problem.
Open the hood of your KIA Amanti and look behind the headlight
that has gone out. Locate the round knob on the back of the headlight.
Turn
the knob counterclockwise 1/4 of a turn and gently remove it from the
back of the headlight. Carefully remove the electrical cable within the
headlight housing that is attached to the back of the headlight bulb.
Locate
the metal clip that holds the light bulb in place by pushing the clip
arm straight in and sliding it down. Remove the bulb from the headlight
housing.
Replace
the old headlight bulb with new bulb. Secure it by sliding the metal
clip up to hold the bulb in place. Reattach the electrical cable and
replace the round knob to the back of the headlight housing.
Turn on the headlights to verify that they are in working order.
Put up the hood and hold the cable closed on the terminal with a pair of pliers. once the car starts it should run fine without the pliers as long as the charging system is working correctly. Then drive to a parts store and replace the cable.
