SOURCE: audi a4 1.8t random miss fire

Check out the AboutAutomobile.com site for NHTSA complaints. I believe there was a defect in the cylinder heads for this engine. The redesigned heads have a different suffix letter than the stock heads.

For a time, the Manufactuer was paying for the repair.

check map sensor and timing ,,,,,, rare problems may in engine's head (walve or gaskit)

I have a primera 1999 2.0 auto which miss fires when i put into drive i can start car and will tick over fine but soon as i touch throttle i get a short miss fire then revs pick up but i cant drive as soon...

check all your spark plug wires for arching sounds like 1 or more wires might be shorting

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for fifteen minutes to reset the computer. It may take another 24 hours of driving after reconnecting to reset all of the sensors properly.

That is the throttle control. It is an electronic part that changes position when you step on the gas pedal. Replace it.

I have porsche cayenne s with turbo exhaust system......i hav changed spark plugs at 46000 km....and after 48000km it started missing when we drive it fast and then slows down it starts missing at low revs...

first of all let car get cold
open hood chek spark pluge cable weather they are fitted well or not if every thing fine also make sure the tight spark plug well..

if above fine might some oxygen sensor problem u can chk with dealer computer

Ny nissan 1994 cefiro model has what you call hiccups when driving, fuel pump has been changed including spark plugs, change oil done, cleaned the air intake as well, still has the hiccups?

Did you change spark plugs wires? fuel filter? I do not know if your car has MAF sensor, but if it does, clean it. Use CRC- Mass Air Flow Sensor cleaner. also check Spark Plugs Gap and coil (s)
