SOURCE: 1997 Mazda 626 timing belt problem
IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH EITHER THE BELT IS A TOOTH OUT, OR HAVE YOU MOVED THE DIZZY WHEN CHANGING THE ROTOR ARM? IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WITH A TIMING LIGHT, THEN YOU CAN CHECK ALL THE TIMING WITHOUT STRIPPING IT AGAIN. BUT IF YOU CHECK THAT THE DIZZY IS TIGHT THEN IT IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE THAT THE BELT IS A TOOTH OUT
SOURCE: RX7 with 13b engine is hard to start, idles fine, dies on accel.
problem like this on garden tractor ,was weak coil ,-when engine at low manifold pressure[idle] spark could jump gap and fire cylinder ,higher pressure /under load-wouldn't fire...check color of spark -orange,yellow ,white spark=weak, blue spark is stronge,

Could be a spark plug wire is wrong.. Just two that are almost right will make a vehical do that or the plugs could need a little more space adjusted in the gap. Or it could be a hose that is lose or has a hole in it.
SOURCE: Poor acceleration
Could it be a bad exhaust? Not enough pressure will leave you with less horsepower any time you hit the gas. Just a thought.

Don't waste your time.
Have the intake manifold gaskets (upper and lower) replaced.
Check all vacuum lines for leaks.
Clamp all vacuum hose connections.
Do NOT replace any sensors unless the computer codes indicate.
THIS WILL FIX YOUR PROBLEM!
