You need to replace the transmission control module located on the front of the transmission. It is not hard to do, just have to remove the air box to get to it.

SOURCE: 94 Lebaron GTC 2nd gear limp in mode

It has an electical problem. You need to take it to the dealership if you want it diagnosed correctly. It will need to be in limp in, and don't turn the car off as this is clearing the code out of the computer. Leave it running, tell the service advisor your situation and not to turn it off till someone can hook the scan tool to it. This will give them the cause of limp in, and should be able to be resolved after.

After battery disconnect what needs reprogram - 2001 town and country

Besides the normal stuff, like the radio stations preset and the clock, the only thing that has to be reprogramed on these vans is the shifting, somtimes it looses its shift points, you will need to reconnect the battery and then drive the van and you will see if it doesnt shift gears like it used to, it may take longer to shift, to correct this problem dissconnect battery for 10min, then connect it back and start the van and place the shifter all the way down to low, slowly roll out to road and take off you will shift the gears your self, note that the way you shift is the way its programed, so you will take off and at about 15mph you will shift to 2 and then i think at 30mph 3 and so on till you get to drive, good day.

Guages went dead, tranny not shifting from 3rd gear

Your transmission appears to be in "Limp Home" mode. This usually indicates an internal transmission problem that the computer has decided is too serious to allow regular operation. EVERYTHING, even your windshield wipers, has to get permission from your computer to operate. When the computer interferes with your operation of the vehicle, it sometimes gets overzealous and does other, more funky and entertaining things than it actually needs to do to protect or disable the vehicle.
The next place you need to go to in this vehicle is a transmission repair facility, attached to a tow-truck. They will confirm/eliminate the transmission as the problem. There are other things it could be, but it's telling you "transmission" and you need to have that confirmed/eliminated first, because it is almost always the most destructive and expensive fault a vehicle can develop. Don't drive it again, because it's cheaper to repair a transmission that has not grenaded.

1997 mercury sable dies when put in gear

Your transmission torque converter lock up clutch is not unlocking, that kills the engine and is the cause of the OD light flashing.

I HAVE A 1999 DODGE STATUS - TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS

your ultradrive transmisson has failed, and your stuck in limp home mode. you have 3rd and reverse.

that was the good news.

the bad is that you need a new transmission. the ultradrive transmissions are very problematic. do a wikipedia.org search on chyrsler ultradrives and than write a really angry letter.

your not the only one that transmission has left of the side of the road

Jumping grand prix

Your transmission is "downshifting" which is a normal function...However if it's happening early, the throttle cable may be out of adjustment. This does not happen in 3rd gear because that's how the system is designed. Downshifting is a 4 (od) to 3rd gear shift...if already in 3rd, this won't happen. As long as trans shifts normally on flat ground with no slipping or delayed shifts, just service it regularly and it should be fine.
