Check Engine Light On, P0300 Random Misfire Code. A random misfire means your engine is misfiring, but that the problem is not isolated to one or two cylinders. It is jumping around in a random way from one cylinder to another. A random misfire code usually means the air/fuel mixture is running lean.

What the P0700 code means. P0700 is set when the PCM detects a malfunction in the transmission control system. This malfunction causes the vehicle to set a Check Engine Light and trigger a failsafe mode. Once the failsafe mode is set it will remain until the fault is repaired or normal operation is detected.

The check engine light needs to be addressed. Yes it could be a sensor but you need to know.
The light blinking means the problem is serious, such as a dead miss on one or more cylinders. The light being on means something is happening with the engine performance that could damage the catalytic converter.
Get the computer scanned - most auto parts stores will do it for free in hopes of selling you some parts. Once you have the codes research them online or here.

It means that there is a malfunction with the engine control system which is most likely related to the emission control system, the computer stores some diagnostic trouble codes that should be retrieved, the trouble code numbers will help to find where the problem may be. The way to get the trouble codes is by putting a jumper wire in the diagnostic connector under the hood between the terminals TE1 and E1 with the key on the check engine light will blink the code, for example a code 24 would be two blinks followed by four and so on. If its trying to run my guess is a sensor. My first question is the check engine light on? If it is you can disconnect the battery and reset the computer. Another way to find out what the problem is to cut the switch off,on,off,on,off then leave it on and count the blinks of the check engine light. Those blinks are a computer code that can tell you where to start. once you have the code number you can call your local autozone or parts store and they can tell you what that code means. Code 55 means that there isnt a problem with the sensors or the computer.

Does this light blink at all ? count the blinks. Sometimes it will blink three times, then pause then blink twice etc. Some variation of that? blinks once, then pause then twice. go to any auto parts store and ask them to read the codes and if none
then ask to turn off the lite. if it comes back on in a few miles there is a problem and you need to fix it to keep light off.

I have the same problem and I read in the user manual that it flashes as a reminder to get oil changed. Depending on how many miles between changes it flashes different amount of times. Manual tells how to reset the gauge. Might be more than that but check your book first.
