Obviously, the front three are fairly easy to reach. The rear three are the real problem. The easiest way to do the rear three is to jack the front of the vehicle up, crawl underneath until you can see the back of the engine from the ground, get real comfortable, making sure the engine and exhaust are cooled down, reach your arm up and pull the boots, very carefully.... then replace the spark plugs. You will not be able to see the plugs themselves, but this seems to be the easiest way to change them. Make sure you have a swivel spark plug socket and extensions and replace the spark plugs with platinum plugs so you can get another 100,000 miles and make sure you have anti seize so you can remove the plugs again in the future. The golden rule is that the engine has platinum plugs in there now and there good for 100,000 mile, if there are no misfire try not to change them unless you think your close to the end of the spark plug life or the check engine light came one to indicate that there are misfires. Good luck and hope this helps.

I have a 3.6L; don't know how different it is. But I did it by unbolting the front engine mounts with a jack under it - then jack the engine up so it rotates the engine toward the radiator and away from the firewall. This may give you more room to work.

Where is the 5th coil pack located on a 2005 buick rendezvous?

Hi patricia, If you have a faulty coil and your car's running rough to find the faulty coil just pull a spark plug lead off and start your car, If it runs (ROUGHER) than before then that coil is ok. Turn the car off and replace that spark plug lead back on to the spark plug. Repeat with the next spark plug lead and so on until you start your car and it runs the same as if THAT spark plug lead is on or off, NOW TO MAKE SURE THIS IS THE FAULTY COIL, Put a spark plug into the spark plug lead that's off and earth it to the motor or body (it has to be touching steel), Start the motor and if that's the faulty coil the spark plug won't spark I hope this helps.....

How do you change spark plugs in a 2002 buick rendezvous cxl

When you change spark plugs make sure your engine is cold, if the engine is hot you have a chance of breaking the ceramic the plug is covered with. Go to your auto parts store and buy some spark plugs. Ask the auto parts clerk what the plugs need to be gapped at or you can have them do it. When ready to change plugs, again make sure engine is cold. You will need a ratchet, possibly an extention and a spark plug socket. Pull the spark plug wires from their hole each individually as to keep track of which wires go to what hole. Put your ratchet, socket and spark plug socket together and insert in hole. Turn the ratchet left as the saying goes righty tighty, lefty loosy. Pull plug from hole when all the way loose, put new plug in and tighten snugly and put wire on new plug. Repeat all these steps on other plugs.

Replacing spark plug wires for 2003 Buick Rendezvous

The front bank of plug wire is easy just remove them one at a time and trace them back to the coil pack. making sure you put them back in there clip harness. The rear bank of plug wire is much harder In the shop we have a tool the titls the engine a little foward and allows you to reach in over or around the engine to gain access to the rear bank of spark plug wire . this tool is sold by OTC , Snap on , Matco , Mac or you might try your local parts store to see if they have one for loan or rent . the firing order on your buick is coil nearest the drive side is 1/4 middle coil is 3/6 and the end coil nearest the passanger side is 2/5
