Its not the PCM as that would cause engine to not crank or run properly. As you changed the steering column you should have traced wiring for cruise control as its right in front of you. Your wiring is bad for cruise control.

2001 town & country. My airbag/seat belt light came on, cruise control and horn stopped working. Dealer said it was the "clock spring" and usually covered as a recall item.

SOURCE: the horn and cruise control doesn't work, fuses are

the horn input to ground is located in the cruise control module. if they both don't work then your cruise control module or the clockspring coil for the steering wheel needs to be replaced. If airbag lights is on as well then I would change the clockspring coil first.

SOURCE: My cruise control is not working, no lights come

If the CHML ( Center High Mount Stop Lamp ) is working correctly, the next thing to check is the Cruise Control Deactivation switch on the brake pedal.

This is different than the Brake Pedal Position ( BPP ) Switch which is for the stop lamps, and the shift interlock.

The Cruise Control deactivation switch, and the on / set switch are the only external inputs to the Cruise Control, the PCM uses the VSS ( Vehicle Speed Sensor ) to read, set and adjust the speed ( no more vacuum items on the 04+ MY trucks )

Cruise control and horn stopped working on 2006 Impala. What could be the problem?

Check fuses first but in all probability you have a wiring issue in the steering column wiring harness.

The cruise control in our GMC Yukon will not engage

What is model year? Do the brake lites work? If not, I don't think the cruise will work either.

Can you check for applicable trouble codes? Some of the national brand auto stores will check codes for free. Also, I'd have to check applicable fuses, the control button on steering column, the cruise wiring in the steering column. Cruise linkages, where applicable.

I can't look up wiring diagram w/o model year.

How to repair cruise control?

Try from Servo control follow connection To I beleive Transmission casing . Look for Burnt wiring / frayed / damaged ...Cruise should maintain speed signal Like speedo cable . Computor management black box / ECM may have direct control so Look for engine bay fuse boxes = 2 under hood . More fuses ++ relays 2 check inside cover is diagram of size + what it controls . A Reset 2 ecm may help by disconnecting Battery - Let sit 30 mins.. Older models + 4 wheel drive Trans has Gear wheel of plastic 2 count revolutions as speedo cable does . If said wheel teeth have worn out then Cruise counts incorrect or fails 2 activate . If you replaced brake pedal Light activation switch then be sure brake Tail lights DO work if not the cruise will fail as brake pedal is part of safety feature to turn it off in emergency disconnect . The signal light Stalk that Turns off L / R signals is Common Item 2 wear out BUT it also controls Turning on cruise or setting ...IF you have Steering wheel on / off / setting control - then issue can be frayed / cut wires due 2 steering wheel movement ....solutions remove wheel BUT 1 st disconnect Air Bag Fuse then wheel and search connections .....Good Luck ...

Where to plug the cruise control back in from switch

Remove the covers below the steering column. Locate the wiring harness mounted to the steering column. Follow the wires toward the steering wheel. You should be able to locate the separate 3 same size wire harness for the cruise control. The wires from the switch handle run alongside, on the inside of the column with your turn signal wires.

Hi my grand voyager se 3.3 has lost it's mind. my cruise and horn dosen't work. The abs and airbag light is on. When it warms up the transmission will not change gears. I have changed the output speed...

I'd check those issues one at a time. Note the horn wiring diagram. I got the horn diagram because it is simple. The fuse is hot all the time, not only check the fuse, use a test light and check voltage at the horn fuse. The fuse and horn relay should be in power distribution center under the hood. If you pull relay and use jumper wire between terminals 30 and 87, with terminal 30 hot all the time, the horn should sound, If it does, problem is on control side of horn relay, left side, has to have voltage and ground. Top wire is voltage, bottom wire is ground. The wiring in steering column--clockspring--horn switch are all part of ground for the control side of relay. If the steering wheel has an airbag, have to disable and be careful with it when testing horn wiring circuits in the steering column.
Granted, your other problems maybe more involved? Check for applicable trouble codes

Is there an aftermarket cruise control for an '04 F150? - Rather than replacing the pcm?

There is no need to replace the PCM, a dealer can reprogram the as built data to activate the Cruise control buttons that you add.

Ford dealers w/ online parts ordering get about 55 ( + Ship ) for the buttons ( MSRP is 109.60 ). They mount right in place of the blanks on the wheel ( for the CC only, the radio controls is a whole other story ).

The wiring should be in the wheel, I have seen XL 5 speed manual transmissions have the wiring in the wheel ( just needed the programming done ).

Item #6 is what you need to buy and install
067c827.gif

If you are good with the mechanics of the work, should take about 45 min or so to mount the switches, and a trip to the dealer to change the as built data with the IDS ( WDS replacement ), and you are all set. Programming should take about 20 min, but they might charge for a full hour ( billing rules per dealer ).

I use Tasca and Southwest Ford for online parts ordering.
Trademotion path to the parts :
Collision Catalog
2006 ( I see you have a 04, same parts ) -> Ford -> F-150
Steering wheel -> Steering wheel and trim -> Cruise switch -> W/o radio controls.

The horn and cruise control doesn't work, fuses are

sounds like a bad clockspring. located in steering column under steering wheel, operates airbag, horn cruise etc, it make wire connection possible so the wheel can spin, its a roll of flat wires, that unroll and roll up as steering wheel is truned from left to right, wires break after a while.
