Fuel pump until controls this. Replace the whole unit.
if not a unit, rare, but you then have a wiring issue.

remove the door panel, from the inside you should have access to the window. lift the window up unto the raling. Check to see if the railing is not bent or why the window came off the railing.

SOURCE: 1996 3.1L Pontiac Grand AM all gauges went crazy

sometimes when the battery is too low the gages will go haywire.check you battery terminals for good conductivity and current levels. sounds like a low current problem.computer runs on 12 volts not 11 or 10. low current will give poor performance and bad electrical response.
try that first then look for shorts under the dash ie naked wires or burnt wires.
good luck.

SOURCE: 2001 PONTIAC GRAND AM SE, WON'T CRANK,RAN MY GAS LOW

Sounds like air in fuel line. Purge fuel line. By "crank", do you mean engine spins but won't catch? Try starter fluid in intake.

I have a 99 pontiac grand prix SE overheating,no service lights on, never overheated before.

Coolant level full ? Cooling fans come on ? Ever have the thermostat changed ? Pull the radiator cap an look inside the radiator , is it caked with a substance that looks like redish mud . Is it actually over heating or is the gauge in the insturment cluster bad.

How do I relieve the fuel pressure ?, and how do I Install a fuel gas tank sending unit on my 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE ?.

You can relieve the fuel pressure by connecting a fuel pressure gauge to a Schrader valve located on the fuel rail. If you need a fuel pressure gauge go to an auto parts store like autozone, they usually loan this tool for free. Why are you replacing the sending unit?

Do I have to remove the gas tank to inspect/change the fuel pump on a 1991 pontiac grand prix?

Unfortunately, yes. It's a pain. I own a 1991 Pontiac grand prix SE 3.1L.

My fuel pump problem started when I ran out of gas (gas gauge was offset) Of course it shuts off w/o gas but it will more likely kill your fuel pump and clog the $#!t out of your filter.

If it makes a buzzing sound under the vehicle w/o the engine running, near the trunk area, replace it along with the filter.

I just replaced fuel pump on my 99 pontiac grand

Anytime when there is multiple issues, I pick one system when the problem is ongoing, check voltage and ground.
The fuses in picture is for instrument cluster, Check for voltage at the fuses when problem is ongoing. Use a test lite. As you can see, one fuse is hot all the time, the other goes hot with the key on.
