Z900 will start then next time will not no power to starter

Next time it won't turn over, Hit the starter with a hammer or something hard a few times. If it starts, replace the starter. After that it is electrical. Checking for power and grounds. And wire chasing.

One problem at a time the selenoid on the starter is stuck that it keeps turning over time for a new starter that could be the hole problem the starter could be taking all the power away from the rest of the system start their good luck

When it won't start I'm guessing you can not hear the starter turning the engine over. If so when it is acting up it should be pretty easy to see if there is power on the small wire at the starter with the key in the crank position. If there is power there and there is power on the larger wire at the starter, again with the key in the crank position, than the starter is the issue. These are also known to have corrosion issues at the connections on the battery. It wouldn't hurt to give those a peak or even clean up those connections.

Possibly the starter solenoid mounted on the starter. When it won't start, you could check for power at that small solenoid wire on the starter while the key is held in crank or start position. If you have power then and there, the solenoid should be replaced. If no power on that wire when key is held in start, it is somewhere else in the start circuit, like the neutral safety switch, or clutch switch if manual, or the starter relay or the wiring associated with it.

Well, first, the battery is not dead. You could have a poor electrical connection somewhere between the battery, starter, ignition switch, or another component of your start circuit, or possibly a failing starter solenoid, or ignition switch. Some electrical testing will be necessary to find the problem. A quick check the next time it won't crank over, is to pull the starter solenoid wire off and check for power on the wire when key is held in crank position. If power then, probably a failing starter solenoid. If no power there, then you have to diagnose the start circuit back through the ignition switch to the battery. Are all your battery and ground connections clean and tight? Starter connections? Use process of elimination, use care, and you'll find the problem.

Know this problem was posted several years ago, but having same issue with my 2008 Nissan Rogue. We've tried everything short of having the battery replaced, (including charging it), and nada. So, tomorrow morning, that'll be our next move. Sucks, but best thing to die. Much rather than than an alternator, starter or solenoid.

Sounds like you have a flat spot in your starter,this is why it only acts up from time to time when this dead spot is in the right position.Next time this happens tap your starter with a hammer and see if it will go then.If so you need a new starter.Good luck

If you are getting full power then locate the starter and get something that you can tap on the starter with while someone else tries to start it.
If it starts when you do this it means that it may start several more times for you or maybe not at all the next time you try. But it will mean that you need to install a new starter very shortly.

Sounds like the starter is the culprit,when the brushes in it are almost gone they will work intermittently and if the brushes aren't touching then you won't even get a click because of the lack of ground for the pull in portion of the starter solenoid winds.The next time it won't start,give the starter a tap or two to confirm this.It should start if i'm right.The starter is under the passengers side just to the rear of the front tire,bolted to the bell housing.

that is a starter solenoid problem.

starter has its own solenoid. the big round thing besides the real motor.

it has contacts inside which could be worn out .

that is why sometimes it make contact and sometimes not.
