My 2004 Chevy Colorado starts then stalls after a few seconds with a reduced power code error. It will usually restart and be find the rest of the day. Sometimes it takes a few starts to keep it running. What does this code mean and what is the fix?
I had the same problem, and the solution was cleaning the throttle body, it does need to be completely removed to be cleaned thoroughly. I just used some brake cleaner on a rag to clean off all the carbon deposits. A friend of mine who is a dealer tech had only seen this trouble code once, and this was the solution. So far, my light has not come back on and the truck is running alot better at idle.
This means there is an error between the gas pedal and the throttle body. Colorado are drive by wire which mean there is no throttle cable. 9 times out 10 it is the gas pedal assembly.
ALSO IF ANYONE KNOW ABOUT A COLD FUEL ENRICHMENT ON CHEVY COLORADO 2006, WHERE IT MIGHT BE LOCATED ON THE TRUCK AND IF IT IS CALLED COLD FUEL ENRICHMENT SENSOR. IF ANYONE KNOWS AND CAN HELP THAT WOULD BE GRET THANKS
2006 Chevy Colorado will throw "reduced power" code when you hit about 3500+ rpms and acting lathargic on take off and acceleration. Cleaned MAF & throttle body & changed crank position sensor.....any ideas what is up. If I let truck sit with battery cable off for a few minutes it starts up without message but is still lathargic.

I had the code p1516 on my GMC sierra 2005, took it to the dealer and they replaced the throttle body, it fixed the problem but they charged me only $1000.00 dollars
I have a 2006 chevy colorado the "reduced power" sign comes on after I go to start it as soon as it starts it stalls within a second. When it stalls I go to start it again and it won't turn over until I move the positive battery cables. I had the throttle body cleaned and the positive and negative cables replaced and it is still doing the same thing. This only happens when the weather is cold, I have no problems during the summer.

"REDUCED POWER SIGN" I FORGOT TO MENTION I HAVE TO REPEAT THE STARTING AND MOVING THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE ABOUT 10 TIMES BEFORE IT WILL ACTUALLY STAY ON AND ONCE I HAVE DRIVIN THE CHEVY COLORADO FOR ABOUT HALF AN HOUR IT WILL START FINE UNLESS I LEAVE IT OFF FOR ABOUT 5 HOUR DEPENDING ON THE WEATHER
