Most likely you are low on freon and the pressure switch will not allow the compressor clutch to engage. one way to tell if that is what is happening is to find the pressure switch located on the low pressure side of the system. you can tell witch line is the low pressure side because it is larger in diameter than the high side. Then take a wire and jump the two wires that go to the switch together. If the compressor starts to run then charge the system with freon. If it does not run then check the relay.

get rid of this car. Sounds like it is haunted! No really get rid of it becaue there is a design flaw in that the timing chain does not get oil and fails. Mine failed at highway speeds at 78,000 miles and screwed up the egine. Only choice was to replace it with a used engine with the same design flaw because no other engine type will fit in this car.

yes their is a switch that senses the amount of gas pressure and shuts down system if their is not enough pressure, but playing with a high pressure system like this can seriously maim,so iam advising you to take it to a repair shop with a proper machine to discharge the system and then check for the faults ,but most likely cause is lack of reserve gas in the system and it just wants a re gas
