I installed new pads and rotors on the front of my truck,i compressed the calipers by putting a line to the bleeder and opened it to relieve pressure, fluid went into cup at other end of line, after i finished both sides,i started it up and let it run,i pressed pedal and was spongy so i tried bleeding them, now i have no pedal at all,it wont even pump up
Next time, use a C-clamp to push the pistons back into the caliper. You won't have air problems. They make a special tool for it if you are a gadget guy.
Bleed the longest line first. Put a tight fitting small engine fuel line over the bleed screw ( I use the green clear stuff ) and into a jar with fluid covering the bottom of the jar and the end of the tube. Fill the master cylinder (make sure you keep it filled ) and have someone pump the pedal while you watch for bubbles. Give it a couple of pumps after the last bubbles. Don't let off the pedal and tighten the bleed screw. Repeat on the short side.
Don't spill the fluid on your paint.
Did you add brake fluid while bleeding? It sounds like you have air trapped in the system. Bleed them very thoroughly. It's a good idea to have help with it. You might have to bleed the back brakes too, if there is air toward that end. It's not a hard job, but it sure helps to have two people.

You need to make sure you have an assistant. The assistant keep adding fluid and pumping the brakes while you operate the bleeder screws.
The procedure--LF,RF,LR,RR (left front, right front, etc). You are moving from the shortest brake line closest to the master cylinder to the longest brake line furthest from the master cylinder. Use an aquarium air hose (12 inch length), and a clear jar to catch the brake fluid. When no more bubbles escape through the hose, the caliper or cylinder is properly bled.
If the level drops below the LOW mark, air may reenter the system. Keep the reservoir full by checking after each bleed!

HAve you troublesot the ABS?
One thing it DOES sound like is the power brake booster. The vacuum size has a leak.
SOURCE: Need help bleeding the front calipers
THERE IS A BLEEDER NUT ON EACH CALIPER,ONE PERSON BLEEDS AND THE OTHER PUMPS THE BRAKE PEDAL
SOURCE: Occasionally after driving and stopping my right
Replace the rubber brake hose on that side....they are prone to rotting on the inside and letting fluid pass through it ,but not letting it back out, causing caliper to stay hung up and making you believe caliper is sticking, and opening the bleeder lets off pressure for a little while...I have seen many unneeded calipers be replaced, and then problem is still there. Now I will almost always replace both hoses when doing a front caliper change....they get old too...Good luck..Lee
Testimonial: "Thanks, sounds like that's the problem."
SOURCE: Spongy brake pedal even after ABS bleed and base brake bleed.
Did you adjust the rear shoes out? If the rear drum brakes are out of adjustment they will give you a lot of pedal travel. If the pads are worn have no fear of that U-CLIP brake spring, just change one shoe at a time. Take the spring off one side, change the shoe, put the spring back on the post and do the same to the other shoe, no problem.
