Question about 2002 Acura 3.2TL
The radio works, the tape player works, the cd player sounds distorted no matter what kinds of cd i put in it?
Thats a lazer problem in the cd usually a cd cleaning disk will sort that problem if not a its the lazer head thats distorted best this to do it put a conversion tape to ipod or iphone and play your tunes off those devices via your tape, there only cheap to buy.

this happened to my 04 tl. it would stay on for the radio but once i hit the cd it would completely shut down until i turn the car off. i had to take it back to the dealership and they had to have it replaced. if you got the car not too long ago you should take it back since they shouldnt be selling you a car with parts that will fail so soon or if you have a warranty then it should be all good.

I had this same problem with my wife's 2000 TL. Even when new it would play packaged CD's okay but not ones that were burned. Eventually, it would not even play the packaged ones. I took it to an auto stereo place and they said the laser is the problem. I had the unit serviced and it worked great for a while but now again will not play burned CD's very well.
