Code p0500 refers to vehicle speed sensor(VSS) --circuit malfunction====causes--wiring-- VSS --ECM
The VSS is normally located in/at the rear of the gear box.

This is a vehicle speed sensor to fix this you need to replace the sensor located in the top of the transmission (on the top of the gearbox)

Trouble code p0500

P0500 is Vehicle speed sensor A, Check owners manual for location of sensor. Check the wire harness in the jeneral area of this sensor for any vissible damage. Replace sensor if required. then have the code cleared from the computers memory. Good Luck. From Ernie @ RedDeer, Alberta, Canada.

2005 ToyotaCamry fault code P0500 Vehicle Speed sensor Malfuction

They are not the sensors you want. The car uses the abs wheel sensors for vehicle speed. Your problem lies in the abs system , possibly the left front sensor, abs ecu or speedo cluster, Clear the code and see if it stay out otherwise you'll need to go to a trusted technician. .
