I have a 2004 Buck Rendezvous. I had the auto part store plug a computer into it to see what was wrong with it so I can fix it before I have to have it inspected. There were 5 codes. One of which is U1301 which means class 2 data link. How can I fix this without having to pay the dealership out the a**?
First erase the codes someone may have disconnect wires to enter codes(existing codes and historic codes )Than reuse the car and recheck the codes
Next fix the first code, secondary codes may be fix by themselve
Have to pay someone with professional tools
to get the car ready for inspection
I wouldn't give my money to any dealers

Our 2002 did the same thing. Easy cheap fix! Pull the wheel off and check the wiring that goes to the wheel sensor. You will find after removing a few inches of wrap, a broken wire or two. This could be on either wheel, so check both. Fix the wires back up and you are good to go. Hope this helps!

I cannot find the 2004, but you can buy it from the dealer. You can download the 2003 and 2005 from this link. http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/owners-manual/buick_owner_manuals.html
SOURCE: Buick Rendezvous 2002 need codes?
the BCM needs to be programmed to operate the computer. a GM techII is now required to calibrate BCM to airbag, stereo, keyless entry, and control pcm data. This is required to make it all work. a gm service should have it done within an hour or less just call and ask them how much it would be to program new BCM. it might cost @$75 to $125 but it is needed, to allow the BCM to work properly.
Testimonial: "ok...i bought the bcm on line (used)...but the gays in the dealer says i have to buy a new one..because the used cannot be to reflashed...or recoded."
SOURCE: 2004 Buick Rendezvous, speedometer fluctuations
Turns out this is a common problem for the Rendezvous.
I took it to a mechanic and after he tested to see if all the speed sensors were working with his handheld computer reader, (because there is no speedometer cable anymore) He reset the needle by turning the key about 25 times as far as possible without starting the vehicle. The speedometer needle came back a bit each key turn till it reached zero. It's been working fine since.

Have the shop clear all the codes. Then drive the vehicle for 10 miles and have the codes checked again.
