1997 BMWs 540i will not backup
Transmission, issues, A/T?
get it serviced .
1: check fuse first.
2: check fluid levels.
3: do the FSM book tests. (its in the book under on car service)

If the battery dont got power then its your altinator because thats what keeps its battery OR it could possiably be the wires and spark plugs

This is what your starter will look like. It's usually on the passanger side engine. Follow your red battery cable to the relay, then follow it from there until it reaches the starter. Make sure you remove the red cable from your battery before working on it.
