1998 Old Aurora Overheating

All warnings were displayed on dash and message center same time(change oil now, engine hot...a/c off, hot...turn off engine, traction off, svc engine soon). What's the deal? I noticed that there is a belt t the right of engine block under a metal arm, what is this. Is this the problem?

98 Oldsmobile Aurora There's a on my Dash it says information center and has the oil fuel speed all that it says low oil is there any way anybody knows how to reset that

Check your engine oil using the oil dipstick located on the engine - you need to add oil to the fill line as shown on the dipstick. You should have the oil replaced regularly (every 3-6 months) and keep your eye on the level if the engine is leaking oil underneath or burning a lot of it.

Recently changed the oil for my 04 silverado, but the change engine oil warning will not go off, how do i correct this

After changing the oil and filter, reset the monitor by proceeding as follows:

Turn ignition On, but do not start engine.

Fully depress and release accelerator pedal three times within five seconds.

If CHANGE ENGINE OIL lamp flashes for five seconds, this indicates system has reset.

Start engine. OIL LIFE should change to 100%.

If CHANGE OIL SOON lamp lights again, repeat reset procedure.

How to turn off change oil light on the 2004 Chevy Colorado Pick-up truck ?

1. Turn the ignition to ON do not start.Engine OFF dash board lights ON.
2. Press and release the reset button in the driver information center (DIC) until the OIL LIFE message is displayed.
3. Once the alternating OIL LIFE and RESET messages appear on the DIC display, press and hold the reset stem until several beeps sound. This confirms the OIL LIFE system has been reset.
4. Turn the key to lock. If the CHANGE OIL message comes back on when you start the engine, the ENGINE OIL LIFE system has not reset. Repeat the procedure
Alternate Method
1. Turn the ignition key to ON with the engine off.
2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal 3 times within 5 seconds. Several beeps sound. This confirms the oil life system has been reset.
3. Turn the ignition key OFF.
4. If the CHANGE/OIL message comes back on when you start the engine, the engine oil life system has not reset. Repeat the procedure
I use the second method, it is more universal and it works for Chevy Venture too.
