What is the exact procedure to replace the engine air filter in a 1999 Buick Century, the instructions were vague.
Which way does the air filter go back in? I can't remember which way it was when I took out the old one.
Buy filter
open hood
unscrew air filter cover disconect sensor if necesary
take out old filter
put new filter
screw cover back
conect sensor
close hood
start car
enjoy your drive
Well you didn't say what engine is in it so,I'll wing it. Assuming it's a v6, the airbox is located in the front, probably driver side. Remove the 4 or 5 wing nuts or Phillips head screws. Gently but firmly lift the top housing & slide the old filter out. Put the new one in,making sure it's in the same way as the old one came out. It can't go in upside down anyway but I'm being specific. Re-install the housing & done!!

Thanks guys, sorry for the vagueness, its a V6 3.1L, and i was more so talking about the step where you have to remove the air duct...it kept saying wingnuts in the manual but all i see is a clamp holding it to the cover of the housing. Also there are set of wires, im assuming they belong to the sensor as solasknows mentioned.
