It's because There are many capacitive circuits holding a small charge themselves, but it wouldn't last for long.

SOURCE: 92 buick park ave security light on car wont start

Someone put the wrong key (resistor value) in the ignition lock, you will have to disconect the battery for 3 min. Make sure you have the right key. Very important! Make sure the climate control is off before disconecting/conecting the battery.

No reverse lights 1992 buck park avenue. Good bulbs and fuses. Please help

check your gear selector switch. the switch is mounted on the transmission where the shift cable attaches and looks like the picture below. Backprobe the connector terminal with the light green wire using a 12 volt test light. Connect the test light clip to engine ground and poke the light tip into the back of the connector at the light green wire. With the key on (engine off) and the transmission in reverse, the test light should come on. If not, replace the switch. If you have more questions, please let me know.

Alternator is good brand new battery still want hold a charge 1991 buick park avenue

If you have a test light available disconnect the negative cable and connect the test light to the cable and to the battery. If it lights up you have a parasitic load.Something is using power when it shouldn't be. A very dim light or acceptable parasitic draw is about. .015 amps depending on vehicle options it could be all the way up .025amps. If the test light is pretty bright it has a large load pulling it down. Finding parasitic draws can be quite time consuming. You can leave the test light connected and start pulling fuses one at a time till the light goes out or gets very dim. This can help you find what circuit is causing the draw. Once you find that particular circuit you will need to find out what services that circuit supports. Example the cigarette lighter may run the accessory lights such as the dome. You will need to find out what is on the circuit to start figuring out which component is dragging the battery down.

Check The Fuses with a 12 volt test light ...Ground one end then touch each side of the Fuse rear contact..if check ok then pull your light see if you have power there....if so connect your test light to Positive wire and Check your GROUND"....you can run Battery Cable of your battery to get the ground or power....for testing

the problem has to be wireing.checking with an ohm meter will not tell you for sure how much current the wier will carry so you need need to find where it starts and ends and disconnect bothe ends.put a jumper to ground in one end then hook a test light to your positive battery terminal, put in the other end of the harness and see if the light is bright or dim.

Alternator test said good, put on car & not charging ,battery test good amp meter decrease`s

Remove and clean battery cables , replace bolts. Check for power going to the alt. it will not charge unless is has power in the connector wire. When alt is tested get them to tell you how many amps it is putting out, not volts. 12 volts will not charge a battery unless you have the correct amount of amps. I had a napa alt and had this trouble twice. The guy said it was good it had over 12 volts output, but it would not charge battery. I fixed mine with a better quality alt. from another store.
