Remove door panel. Unplug and release switch from back side. Re instal with new switch. Check owner's manual as you may need to relearn the auto stop points.

SOURCE: VW Polo 2001 - Electric Windows wont open from Drivers side..

I removed all 3 switches from driver and passenger door, which is really easy with a flat head screw driver. took them completely apart, very carefully, with a small screwdriver out of a christmas cracker. put them back together again and 2 switches started working, so I put 1 in the drivers side and 1 in the passengers side so now my drivers door window opens and I lean over to open the passenger door. cool, no money spent...yet ;o)

SOURCE: 2001 volkswagon cabrio power windows

The Cabrio electric window issues are most often related to a bad Window regulator. My wife owns a 2002 Cabrio, that had a mis-behaving drivers window. After inspecting it, I found one of the cable roller guides was broken, causing the cable to snag when using the window open / close. I had a local garage order the regulator for me, and then I disassembled the drivers door and installed the new regulator (problem is now solved). Additionally, her passenger window stopped working, however, if you listened carefully, you could here a click sound when the button was pushed. I took this door apart as well, removing the regulator, I found it was jammed. Carefully, I removed the cover concealing where the cable rolls up, and was able to free the pressure. Once this was done, the window worked fine.

The odds of both switches going bad at the same time is high, remove the door panel and tap on the window motor with a hammer, while trying the switches. I may have jammed up. Ground a test light and check the motor connection, while trying the switch, power will show on either side depending on if it turning up or down

well you can try "jumping" the correct wire to see if window got up or down... this will tell u if switch is bad... but I would just go but a new master switch... try that before you cause more damage..

Drivers side electric window will not work even though passenger side window still works from the same switch.

sounds like the driver`s window switch is the problem as the passenger driver`s door switch supplies power to the passenger window motor through the passenger switch, even when controlled by the driver`s door switch

Wher is the power window relay for 1996 s-10 truck

Your problem is likely in the master switch on the driver side. Try getting a drivers door switch from the junkyard. I have a 96 Silhouette that I experienced the same problem with. After changing out the motor, and the passenger switch I finally traced it to the master switch. Power goes to the drivers door switch first and then over to the passenger door. It could actually be both switches. A bad relay would affect both windows not just the one side.

Passenger side electric window doesn't work from passenger side. workes from driver sid like to see electrical print

If works from driver's side ok then you have a bad switch on passengers side cause the power comes from driver's side switch

Windo motors wont work

The driver side window switch is the master switch, the power or input to either roll the window up or down goes thru that switch. Double check all the connections on the back of the driver side window switch are good. With a DVOM you can also check to see if 12v are even getting to the master switch in the first place. If you aren't even getting power to the main power window switch you could've blown the power window fuse.
