I have replaced the crankshaft sensor, camshaft sensor, and MAF after the car died on the freeway and was towed to a garage. Garage ran a scan and said they came up with the codes for these three parts. The car would start for them and I did not pay them to do the service, so I drove the van back to my house. Now after replacing the three parts the van will not start. I have checked my installation three times by taking off the timing cover and related parts to gain access to the crankshaft and camshaft sensors. I have checked the voltage and resistance at the harness side of the sensor. Checked fuel pump and fuel is being delivered to fuel rail at top of engine. Appears that a spark is not being delivered as van will not start even with starter fluid. I checked the ignition coils with a grounded spark plug tester and there was no spark. Past the crankshaft sensor and camshaft sensor what other parts control the ignition? Thanks!

Try the ignition switch,
For the Crank sensor there is a small metal disc that mounts behind the sensor if that is cracked or dammaged or installed backwards you will get same results as if it wasn't Make sure the timing marks line up on your timing belt. www.kiatechinfo.com

There is a black rubber button reset switch right next to the air box, press it sounds like the problem i had its a fuel pump reset (just in case of a wreck it kills the car) but there is a tiny ball in there and if it is rattled a little too much it will fall and you need to press the black looking button to reset it....took me like 4 months to figure it out
SOURCE: i think i need to change the crankshaft position sensor.
yes the crankshaft position sensor can cause all these problems at once. they are fairly simple to change and not a really expensive part if you want to check it though you can unplug it and hook a multimeter to it and check ohms as someone cranks the engine. should see a square wave as in 0 ohs to infinity ohms and repeat.

Start with the simple and replace the fuel filter. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or once a year to ensure the fuel system is running 100%. Auto Zone will have the fuel filter and can give you the step by step instructions to getting the job done with common tools. If it's the fuel pump failure, you have not gotten the car restarted. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know you got your car running 100% again soon and please rate.
