Is it green or red? Will not start if the coolant level is too low, you might have a serious cooling system leakage, just fill the cooling system up with water see if it starts, if it does, still need to find the leak, bring it to a mechanic.

I have a 2002 kia rio cinco changed radiator and fan assembly. Thermostat is out but it still heats up on me! Whats the problem?

Sounds like the water pump if you have had all that done. Remover the filler cap on the engine that says "DO NOT OPEN WHEN HOT" please dont open it when hot. check that it is full and you don't have an airlock (it will fill your header bottle as well if you go right to the top. Start the engine and you should see the water circulating top up if it goes down. If when the engine is running, the water gets blown out with force then I would be looking at cylinder head or gasket problem. If after topping up in the engine water point, and you can see water circulating, top it right up and replace the cap. providing you have no leaks this should have cured the overheating. No circulation means, change the water pump. Hope that helps.

How do you burp a cooling system on a 4.3 vortec?

if all you did was to replace the top radiator hose and only lost the coolant from the top tank, all you should have to do is to refill the radiator up to the cap level and start the engine . Watch the water in the radiator and when the engine starts to warm up the thermostat will slowly open and the water in the radiator will go down . refill the radiator while the engine is running and when the system is full of water you will know by the temperature of the water in the radiator . It will be hot to the touch. Replace the cap.

What is the proper procedure for bleeding the cooling system after replacing the thermostat ?

none as such just fill it up to the top start engine and let it warm up a bit then top up when cool for a vehicle like this ,only old renaults and peugeots had bleed out oints on the heater hoses at the back of the engine or on top of the top hose like the old renault 4 .if its blowing out water then put a pressure tester on it to see if the pressure is building up when engine is started and first run .

Water pump or head gasket

If you can see water pouring from the front and the rear of the engine/cylinder head then I would suspect a head gasket. However, why not remove those components which will allow you to fully inspect the water pump first as the chances are that you would also have to remove these items to remove and repair the head gasket. You may also find water in the engine oil or water in the cylinders which can cause locking of the engine and serious internal damage if not addressed immediately.

Water come out from Water line when Engine Shutdown.

Does it show signs of over heating at all? When cool, take off rad cap & check level in rad & top it up. If down a lot, start engine, turn on heat & let run until you hear rad fan come on & check temperature gauge to see if normal operating temperature. Let it come on a couple of times, and top up rad an inch or so from top, then put rad cap back on. Top up bottle to proper level & try it. If it spits back into return bottle, try replacing rad cap.

Car overheated and now leaks coolant

Thats not a good sign. When a engine overheads, the heads tend to warp, especially aluminum heads. It could be something as simple as a hose or waterpump leaking, but because its associated with an overheat condition, I suspect a warped head. Most garages have a pressure tester where they can pressurize your coolant system and check for leaks without the engine running.
