There is an info button. Press that button repeatedly until you get to maintenence. Once there, use the directional knob and toggle down to oil and press ok, from there it should either give you a reset tab to highlight and press ok, or highlight the mileage bar and toggle left until it is back at 0. If you have any trouble let me know and I will walk you through it.

SOURCE: Shifting Problem

I believe you have to use the shift release button to shift out of park and back into park. This is a safety feature to prevent accidental shifting of the selector while the car is stationary

SOURCE: my back brakes are making noise, what type of

Try your parts store for this one. They have a wide range of different brake pads for your vehicle with prices going up for the better ones.

I use Wagner on my 1997 Cadillac deville that do not require shims as they are built in.

These are fool proof pads.

Good luck to you...

SOURCE: 2004 infinity qx56 it accelaratets when shifting down

Check under Automobile.com site for product safety conditions. The NHTSA will show complaints and resolutions on this site. The technical service bulletins are numbered. If, after you enter all the info about your problem and compare it to past reports, you can get the number of the Resolution to the Dealer. Use every bit of ID the site shows for the solution.

Many times it shows if this is a free repair. You can also REPORT a problem to the NHTSA for investigation.

This can be catagorized under unintended or runaway acceleration. It may be listed under Engine, Controls, or under which part is causing the problem.

In general, it is odd to pickup speed while downshifting. The lower gears would cause the engine to rev up without making the car move faster. If this happens only when the Cruise control is being used, discontinue using the cruise. It is the only part that will open the throttle to maintain speed.

HELP!! I have a 2005 infinity qx56 the rear ac isn't blowing but the front one is. What should I do?????

Could possibly be the rear blower motor unit and/or rear blower motor resistor, if it is separate from the rear blower motor unit.

Seeing the age of this question, was this the issue? Or, was it something else?

Bad oil pump ?

Turn your A/C off, the compressor can make noise if bearings are dry or system is low on compressor oil.
Remove your serpentine belt. Turn pulleys by hand to check for roughness. Bearings in those pulleys routinely go bad.
You may get computer warnings with the following test, but with serpentine belt removed, run engine for 2 or 3 minutes. Do this on a warm engine after serpentine belt is removed. The warm oil will not mask the problem like cold thick oil can. Noise generated means problem is internal.
If this is a stick shift transmission sometimes the clutch bearing can make noise and is a sign that bearing is bad.

Recently on our 2005 volvo s80 we get a knocking/ticking sound after car warms up and can not hear it when engine is revved.check engine light also came on.oil was also very low.engine code is exhaust...

The low oil condition is unrelated. It might just be using/leaking more oil than you think.. The noise is an exhaust valve solenoid issue as you stated.. The system is quite complex and I would suggest you have someone with experience look at it. You might double check that all the vacuum hoses under the hood are hooked up properly, a loose one can cause some noise as you suggested.

Loses power after it warms up. Has a knock like low on oil. Have to down shift to lower gear to get power. 1987 Dodge Dakota 4 cyc, standard shift

When you are low on oil you should hear an engine "ticking" noise at the top of the motor. If you hear an engine "knock" or repeated thud with a metallic sound, your engine will very likely require a significant repair or replacement. There is another possibility that you could have a broken timing chain but normally the engine would not stay running if that is the case. I would suggest you have an engine shop mechanic (not dealership) diagnose the knock and estimate a repair.

2005 vw beatle trans is sliping .is this this major? or just low on fluid ? cant check it w/out a dip stick.

Yes and yes. Are you sure it doesn't have a dipstick? Engine is transverse/sideways, transmission is on driver side? Normal transmission check is; warm transmission, engine running, hold brake, shift through all gears, put back in park, engine still running, pull dispstick, wipe and check dipstick again. Should be near "warm" markings.
