My 11/2000 Diahatsu Terios starts if left but wont rev up over 2000rpm and slowly gets worse and cuts out and wont start like its starving for fuel?

I think you should check the fuellines and for sure the injectors, these are most probably blocked. It can also be the fuelfilter that is clogged
Staert by replacing the filter and try to start.Once its starts leave it running stationary and remove the fuellines one by one from the injectors. If you loosen the first one and the engine rpm go down a bit you know the injector is good...tighten the fuelline again and move on to the next one and so on.

My 2001 saturn s-series wii not start up but will turn over

check your fuellines and check if the fuel is coming to the injectors off the car.you can easely see this by taking off a fuelline and try to start.most probably its the fuelpump or the prefuelpump that is broken on top of the fuelfilter

What would make the fuellines hot when trying to start this truck? also still wont start.

It sounds like this a dangerous situation. The engine may be using the fuellines as a ground. This would be like putting an electric spark next to gasoline. You may have another wire laying on the gas line somewhere. Check your Ground wire to the block.

The obvious thing to blame is the fuelpump, but there is both a fuse and a Relay to blow out. If these are not blown, the power that is heating the fuelline is coming from something else. The Fuelpump fuse and Fuelpump Relay only protect the Positive wires and there is nothing to protect the Negative wires. The Fuellines would be Negative ground and Unprotected.

Since your truck is not running, I would try a tool to check the Starter draw while cranking. Since Electric flows to the path of least Resistance, the Starter may have more resistance than the fuellines. You may have to take the Starter into Autozone or Oreillys for tests. You may have a short in the Alternator throwing a Positive charge to the Chassis

There is no telling what may have been Zapped if the Chassis got a Positive charge. Listen to the Fuelpump to energize before you use the Starter. There is an Inertia sensor which has a Pushbutton to Reset, probably under a Kickpanel.

Would like to know the outcome of this.
