Tirdefaultlight I have to clear the tire warning light every time I start the car. There is no spare in the trunk but it came with a donut tire from the factory. Did the spare that came with the car have a sensor in it

can be either option for full size when buying vehicle look at tire if looks different than what is on vehicle its a donut spare if looks like the other tires its a full

I don`t think you have cv axles in the rear of that.My guess would be wheel bearings could be grinding. Donut spares are strickly to be used for short periods of time and not to be driven at any higher rates of speed. Some damage may have occurred during the actual incident when you had the flat initially.Damage to the rear axle itself,

Did you check spare tire in trunk?

in the back storage area there is a circular plastic cover about 1.5" wide. pry this up with your tire tool and you'll find a hex nut. use the tire tool to loosen that nut and the tire will lower on a wire rope with a T handle in the center of the donut spare. reverse the procedure to replace it making sure you snug it tight.

In the trunk right side you will need to take the right inside pannel off with a flat head you should find a donut size tire and a jack and a lug tool boltted to the right side frame

I had the same problem tryed to put a full size tire back there and it wont fit.

You can reset the TPMS system on your Toyota Highlander. There are instructions in the owner's manual on how to do so. However, resetting the system without checking the cold-air inflation of the tires is not necessarily solving the problem. The recommended tire pressure inflation sticker is located on the driver-side door frame. On the Highlander, it calls for 30 pounds per square inch (psi) of tire pressure per tire, including the full-sized spare. If the Highlander had a donut spare tire, it will not have a TPMS sensor and subsequently will not effect the TPMS system one way or the other. To reset the TPMS system in the Highlander, there is a reset button under the driver-side dashboard that needs to be held for a period of time (a few seconds) while the ignition key is in the "key-on/engine-off" mode. The TPMS warning light will blink rapidly for a few more seconds, and the system will reset itself. Refer to the manual for the exact procedure. first check tire pressure. if ok then calibrate t.p. sensors with weight you have on spare in trunk. if still happens after that you have a faulty tire pressure sensor.

the tire in the trunk has a sensor also check the spare tire pressure , only the dealer will tell you this after you are charged to mount and balance the spare in the trunk..
