From your owners manual:

SOURCE: WHERE IS THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR LOCATED?

If you look at where the wiper arm goes, you will see the shaft. The shaft goes under defrost venting where the arms and motor are.

I turned on the wipers while windshield was iced and they did not work due to ice.

From your description of events, chances are, your wiper motor burned out, or the gears stripped, either way you're most likely looking at a new wiper motor. Blades frozen to the windshield, or trying to clear deep or heavy snow with wipers put a lot of strain on the motor and will very often cause it to burn out. The upside is if you are confident enough to try it yourself, most wiper motors are relatively easy to replace, and depending on your vehicle, it shouldn't be a horribly expensive part to purchase. Hope this helps, Good Luck :)

Washer fluid is probably frozen, have you checked the fuse for the wipers? There should be an overload protection in case the blades stick

One side of my wipers is not in sync or is moving faster and moving to far over into the driver side wiper messing it up should i replace the motor

jhigh09, It does not sound like your wiper moyor is the problem. your passenger side wiper arm or stud might be stripped . To remove the arm, there is a spring clip where the arm is attached to the stud, With a small screwdriver pry the clip away from the stud and inspect the wiper arm and the stud. They have very small splines on them. If one or both are stripped, Replace them. To avoid this problem in the future, make sure you clear your windshield of snow /ice . that is commonly the cause of this type of failure. Also, Make sure you turn the wipers off when you park your truck. When you start up in the morning you will forget there on, i have and your wipers frozen with ice and snow will try to break loose and some damage. Hope i was of some help.

My 1990 nissan stanza had ice on windshield, I tured on wipers & nothing The motor runs but wipers don't

If the ice buildup was severe enough and you tried to run your wipers while they were frozen in place, the wiper transmission has probably failed, slipped a joint and now the motor will turn but it will not turn the wiper arms. You will have to open up the wiper panel and visually check to see what part has failed in that wiper transmission.

Wipers were frozen but would not work when thawed

if you turned them on when they were frozen then you may have damaged the motor or linkage to wipers. the first thing to do is to check your fuses to make sure the wiper fuse is good. if not then replace the fuse and try the wipers, also turn key on with engine off, turn wipers on and listen to see if you hear the wiper motor running if you do then maybe something came apart, most linkage snaps together, hope this helpscc019cf.gif

My windshield wipers stopped working after a big snow storm. (1997 Jeep Cherokee)

You should check your fuses first. What may of happened is that the wiper motor could be frozen if the wiper arms are frozen in ice. Another thing that may of happened is that the wipers were used to clear the windshield instead of clearing it manually. When that is done if there is too much snow or it is a heavy snow the wiper motor will burn up or go bad due to the fact that it does not have enough power to do such things.

Front wipers stopped working but you can hear the motor run also

If the wipers were buried under snow/ice or frozen to the windshield, you may have blown the red 10 amp fuse located in cavity 9 in the fuse block located on the bottom left side of the instrument panel near the parking brake pedal.
In order of easiest to check:
1) ensure wipers not frozen to windshield.
2) ensure wiper arms are not loose on the pivot stud,
3) check the red 10 amp fuse.
You stated that "you can hear the motor". Which motor do you hear? The engine or the wiper motor?
If you hear the wiper motor, then the fuse is alright. Try 1) and 2) above.
