No fire from new coil what could be - 1990 Volvo 240

What engine is in your 1997 Suburban?

have you checked for codes. you should have power and ground at the coil plug. note the computer is what grounds the circuit to fire the ignition coil. if you don`t have a ground then it could be a bad coil driver in the computer, which means you will have to have the computer replaced a possibly programed to the car.

Crank sensor if it has one,timing belt skipped is a possibility,and always the dread security key problem.don-ohio

try switching plug and or coil with another cylinder to see if misfire moves, you might have got a bad replacement part.

Coil packs do not have firing orders, engines do. I suspect you were given the incorrect part.

Do you have a fuse box under the hood on the drivers side fenderwell ?

Maybe the computer which controls the spark is bad, or the circuit or wiring between the coil and the computer is somehow disturbed or broken.

new coil and no fire? test the ohm rating of the all coils old and new. It maybe the ignition module can be at fault or a bad new coil

check the crankshaft sensor

a crank sensor tells the coil to fire.are you getting a signal at the coil to fire?
